I am not a mechanic by any means of the word. When something goes wrong with our car, I have no idea about any of it. We just recently got our brakes fixed and I couldn't tell you how a rotor works or where the actual brake pad is. The only thing I know about a car is how to put gas in and where the oil, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid goes. To share a story with you: Almost a year ago on Memorial Day weekend, my girls and I were leaving church and heading over to the cemetery to place flowers on grandmother's grave. As we were turning into the cemetery, there came a car barreling up on us very quickly. Before I had time to react, we were already hit, hit hard from behind. Thankfully, my girls were not hurt and I was more shaken then anything. My oldest was VERY upset as to be expected, little one really had no clue as to what was really going on. The driver, which turned out to be an older lady in her late 60's or early 70's, said she pressed on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, which was why the accident occurred. Our car ended up being totaled, the whole back was smashed in and could not be fixed. We say to this day if it hadn't been for the spare tire sitting in the trunk in the spot that it was, that my girls would have been crushed, she was going at least 50mph if not a little more when she hit us. I hit the steering wheel, but was not injured. The tow truck took our car to our house and everyday for about a month, I was reminded of what had happened. Looking at the car, how my front seat was all twisted, the rear view mirror had fallen off, made me realize that day that God and his angels were definitely on our side.
