Bake Me A Wish Review and Giveaway

Hard to believe that Easter is right around the corner.  My oldest daughter's favorite holiday next to Christmas, at 7 years old, she still loves the Easter Egg Hunts.  This year as being new members of our church, we are having our very first Easter egg hunt.  I am really excited because little one gets a chance to hunt for eggs this year.  Easter is a wonderful time of year too because it is officially spring and soon you will see flowers popping up, the temperatures getting warmer and robins singing everywhere.  It's also a great time to not only remember what the day is truly about, but get together with family and friends for a home cooked Easter dinner.  I remember my Grandmother cooking everything from scratch for Easter: ham, homemade mashed potatoes and ham gravy, fresh green beans, handmade rolls and apple pie.  I love to make new memories with my kids and hubby now and what's the best part of Easter dinner?  The dessert, right.  There is a great place online called Bake Me A Wish, I'm sure that you've heard of it.  They specialize in some truly delicious and delectable cakes, coffee cakes and more.  A while back there was a story of a lady who was fighting foreclosure on her home by baking her special recipe Mortgage Apple Cakes.  I saw the story on the news and was truly amazed by what this courageous lady, Angela was accomplishing and how people just answered her call for help.  Well she did it, with the help of the truly  amazing Bake Me a Wish and she is still selling those Mortgage Apple Cakes and 5% of the proceeds from each sale go toward the GreenPath Debt Solutions that is a nationwide non-profit consumer credit counseling service to help people with financial problems.  You can feel good knowing you are purchasing a delicious cake while helping people at the same time.

Bake Me A Wish is a premium, nationwide service for delivery of gourmet cakes, whether it be for a birthday, anniversary or special holiday.  Their cakes are made with only the finest and freshest ingredients by an award winning family bakery in New York that also supplies pastries to several of Manhattan's most elite restaurants.  They are able to bring you their cakes at an affordable price.  You will bring a smile to your loved one's faces with a cake handmade from Bake Me A Wish.  Each cake can be sent overnight, nationwide and is guaranteed to arrive on the date specified or your money back!  Each cake includes a greeting card that you can personalize and comes packaged in an elegant gift box.

I was sent a heavenly Boston Cream Cake for review.  I had never had a piece of this kind of cake before, so I was really excited to try this.  It was package very nicely in the box and the card was so cute with the bunny on the front that said "Happy Easter."  I was really impressed with just the packaging and card, but even more so when I actually opened up the cake.  There sitting in front of me looked like a masterpiece, a work of art so to speak.  This Boston Cream Cake was so pretty I really didn't want to cut into it yet at the same time I could wait to have a piece.  Of course, the oldest, hubby and even little one were waiting for me to cut it after dinner one night, so I obliged.  I love yellow cake and this was moist, light and flavorful.  In between the two layers of yellow cake, is a thick layer of French Vanilla cream that was cool and delicious.  Then on the top of the cake is a rich chocolate icing that is not TOO sweet and not overly done.  My whole family and I really enjoyed this cake, thanks to New England for creating the Boston Cream Cake and for Bake Me A Wish for perfecting it.  This cake would make an absolutely perfect gift and compliment to any meal.  Upon looking over the site, I see A LOT of great cakes I would love to try.  The Strawberry Shortcake and Vanilla Bean Cake are two on the top of my list for sure!

Be sure to head on over to Bake Me A Wish and check out Operation: Birthday Cake.  This is a great program launched by Bake Me A Wish to provide gourmet birthday cakes to our wonderful troops overseas.  Since our troops often miss out on the traditional birthday party here at home, Bake Me A Wish found a way to have that birthday experience-to still feel remembered and valued and so they should always.  You can contribute to the Operation:Birthday Cake and send a cake to a soldier or even if you know of a soldier with an upcoming birthday.  Just go to www.BakeMeAWish.com and select "Military Cakes" from their cake navigation bar.  Keep in mind, Bake Me A Wish donates 5% of it's online revenue to this very worth cause.  Please if you can, do your part to help!
