Rockabye Baby! Review and Giveaway

I love music, as I have said once or twice before.  My girls absolutely love music, I have taught my oldest daughter my love of all types, but she still loves her Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers.  Little one loves the classics like Twinkle Twinkle, the Handy Manny theme, and so on.  We were introduced to a new type of music recently that I am truly a new bug fan of.  Rockabye Baby! is the store and they specialize in get this, lullaby renditions of baby's favorite rock bands.  Now I know what you're thinking and probably the same thing when I ran across the site, how on earth can you make a lullaby rendition of rock and roll music?  It was especially a huge question as I read across the CD's that they have available in their store.  AC/DC, U2, Green Day, Metallica, and Guns and Roses and that's just to name a few.  I was definitely curious as to how this worked, so I contacted the company to see if I could set up a review.  The graciously accepted and sent me their newest release of one of my all-time favorite bands-Lullaby Renditions of Journey.  Seriously, who doesn't like Journey and I'm talking Journey WITH Steve Perry, not without.  I was actually really excited to receive this CD, not only for my little one, but for myself as well.  I can honestly say that this CD is really great!  Little one really enjoyed it as well.  She was bee boppin' all over the house and just seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself.  I love it because it had some of the classic Journey songs-retooled.  I also love the cover of this CD as well as the others I have looked at.  They are vamped up versions of a cover made famous by the original artists:colorful and animated.  Here is the songs featured on the Journey CD:
*Open Arms
*Any Way You Want It
*Wheels In the Sky
*Faithfully
*Separate Ways (World's Apart)
*Who's Crying Now?
*Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'
*Send Her My Love
*Stone In Love
*Only the Young
*Lights
*Don't Stop Believin'

I found that even if you are a big fan of some of the bands featured on this set of CD's and you don't have babies or kids, I would still buy them for myself, this Journey CD was just enjoyable for me and a change of pace from the ordinary.  Here is the overview according to the site:
Rockabye Baby! transforms timeless rock songs into beautifully instrumental lullabies.  Guitars and drums are traded for soothing mellotrons, vibraphones, and bells, and the volume is turned down from a ten to a two.  Rockabye Baby! is the perfect way to share the music you love with the littlest rocker in your life.

I am really anxious to get more of these CD's as two of my FAVORITE bands are featured: U2 and Coldplay.  I can't wait to introduce these to little one, I'm sure she would love them.  As I listened to this CD, I couldn't help but wish they had these CD's out when my oldest was a baby.  When she was little she really dug Queen and great thing is that Rockabye Baby!has Lullaby Renditions of Queen, she would have loved that, maybe she still would.

Rockabye Baby! is staffed with music lovers from all corners of the world.  Headquartered in Los Angeles, the label was born of the need to make children's music cool-not only for babies but their parents too.  They turned to their record collections for inspiration: punk, metal and classic rock.  the resulting albums are revolutionary yet reverential.  Rockabye Baby s the newest addition to diverse musical family.

Rockabye Baby! has also won some great awards including 3 iParenting Media Awards, Esquire's Esky Music Award for Best Kids Album and the National Parenting Publications Award.  Not only do they offer a wonderful range of music CD's but they offer Rockabye Baby! onesies as well.  For more information on this great company and all of the products that they have to offer, please head over HERE.  Be sure also to check out the Rockabye Baby! blog HERE.

EcoSMART Organic Pesticide Products Review and Giveaway

I know it's winter and a lot of us aren't worrying about killing ants, bugs and all of those other little pests that somehow find a way to get into your home and also bother you while you're outside enjoying a beautiful summer day.  There's nothing I hate worse than ants and ants getting into my house irritates me to no end.  Flies are bad too, those pesky little creatures always seem to fly into the house somehow and trying to eat outside, forget about it.  As soon as they sense food, they swarm all around you making it impossible to enjoy your food or having to come inside, which for me is no fun.  Hubby buys a lot of pesticides and such, but with two little girls running around, I think of their safety and not having to inhale the fumes of these products.  If I put out ant traps around the house we take the chance of little one grabbing them and putting them in her mouth.  I haven't been able to find any natural or organic pesticides around my part of town or anywhere else, until now.  I was really excited to find EcoSMART, a great line of organic pesticide products,  pest control, insect repellents and more that are all natural, proven effective and non-toxic so they are safe around your children and pets with none of those awful fumes to breathe in.  The generous folks over at EcoSMART allowed me to choose one of their great Value Bundles for review.  Of course I got input from hubby on this one, him being the gardener and caretaker of the yard.  He chose the Safe Picnic Bundle for our review.  This bundle came with a bottle of Home Pest Control, a can of Flying Insect Killer and 2 bottle of Insect Repellent, to us this was the perfect bundle of all natural pesticides.  The girls are always outside, the oldest can't wait for the cold weather to go away so she can head out to her swingset and also ride her bike.  Little one loves to play in the grass, but always gets bit up by ants, gnats and mosquitoes, which are especially bad out here on the lake where we live.  I look forward to using this Insect Repellent this summer because I can feel safe and confident that not only is it doing it's job, but doing the job naturally so my kiddos don't get big red bites all over their arms, neck and legs.  Sure I have used my share of repellents, but some are so sticky and don't provide the long-lasting coverage that my active girls and us need without having to reapply regularly.  This Insect Repellent from EcoSMART keeps those pesky bugs and insects away for hours, so the kids and parents can stay outside and enjoy themselves.  This powerful, all natural formula is made from organic plant oils such as rosemary, cinnamon leaf, and lemongrass, providing a light refreshing fragrance while repelling mosquitoes, gnats, ticks and other annoying pests.  This sounds absolutely wonderful and I can't wait to give it a try.
The Flying Insect Killer is also made with organic plant oils and kills flies, gnats, mosquitoes, crickets and more on contact.  That's great for me because crickets are annoying and always seem to get into places where you can't see them.  One little spray of this and I don't have to worry about listening to them anymore.  There's also no pesticide residue, and that's definitely a huge plus for me.
The Home Pest Control can be used either indoors or outdoors, is made with organic plant oils such as clove, rosemary, peppermint and thyme and repels over 100 different home invading pests.  I highly recommend these great products and the other available from EcoSMART.
EcoSMART Technologies is the world leader in safe pesticide solutions and is a venture backed company with patented technology and a world class management team.  Their mission is to create the world's safest, most effective pesticides based on natural ingredients.  EcoSMART has 15 years of scientific research and a wealth of patents behind them.  They make the only 100% safe insecticide that is proven to work and also offer the only complete line of EPA exempt pesticides sold in the US.
EcoSMART was the first company to apply modern science to essential plant oils.  Their products are based on the natural defenses that plants and trees have used for their self protection against insects and pathogens for essential oils.
EcoSMART's products are safe around children, pets and the environment.  The are university tested and field-proven and have been issued 40 US patents and 55 foreign patents.  They have provided natural pest control for agricultural and commercial markets for many years.  EcoSMART products are available in leading retail stores and in their online store.  For more information on these great products and to see all that EcoSMART has to offer, please head over HERE.

Friday Follow Topic-Random Friday Thoughts

Good morning and happy Friday Follow to all of you who have participated and all of you newbies who are just joining us. I seen something similar to this on another blog and thought I would give it a try. Here are some random Friday thoughts for you:

*Watching Good Morning American this morning and my heart goes out to the family of the Sea World trainer that got attacked and killed a few days ago. Did I hear that guy say it was her fault because of her ponytail?

*Congratulations to South Korean figure skater Kim Yu-Na for taking the gold medal in the Olympics last night. Her performance was amazing! The figure Skater from Canada Joannie Rochette made me cry, hard to believe she lost her mom four days ago. Believe me, I know how she feels.

*Really tired of winter and all of this snow. They say we have a 100% chance for more snow along with blowing and drifting. Going to make it hard to go grocery shopping later, but I'm going anyway.

*Congratulations to the Canadian Women's Hockey team for winning the gold medal last night. Also congrats to the US women for grabbing the silver, nothing to be ashamed about.

*Church choir practice was a ton of fun last night. It didn't feel like we got a whole lot of singing in in between all the laughing we were doing.

*Glad last Sunday is over. I joined the church, got baptized, my girls got baptized, I had to sing in choir, and it was communion Sunday too. Busy day!

*Got the new furniture this week. It looks great and has that new furniture smell. I finally got the new living room that I have been wanting for the 15 years I've been married. Our furniture is cocoa and the carpet and trim around the windows is a pretty shade of green, hubby says it is out mint chocolate chip room.

*Survivor last night was pretty good-glad to see Randy go, yet was hoping they would get rid of Parvati, she really annoys me. Impressed by Rob's hard work, beginning to see what Amber sees in him.

*Really bummed to see that they found the body of "Growing Pains" actor Andrew Koenig, such a bummer. He had everything going for him, too bad he was in such pain.

*Getting tired of fighting with my 7 year old daughter, don't know why she has to be so mouthy and always looking for a fight, also tired of picking up her room, she just doesn't want to do anything.

*Love that my 17 month old daughter helps me around the house, she loves to help pick up her blankets out of the crib, help me pick up pillows when I make the bed, and helps pick up her toys. Some days it's amazing what she does!

*Really sad to see the Olympics come to an end this weekend. I have really enjoyed watching them and spending several late nights getting into all of the drama that is figure skating. Oh well at least I got something to look forward to in 2014.

*Been doing a lot of organizing around the house this week, bookshelves and cupboards, the house is starting to look really good, now if I could just get down in the basement and get that done.

*I love Handy Manny, this is a really a cute show and little one sure does like it.

*Hoping to get my hockey fix this weekend, hard to believe there are only 22 regular season games left in our season here in Muskegon and then more than likely the playoffs before our professional hockey team is taken away from us. 50 years of professional hockey and poof! gone. Not really happy about this at all.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Eloise :)

Wow Wow Wubbzy Go For the Gold DVD Review and Giveaway

My girls love their cartoon shows, for sure. My little one really loves Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse where as my oldest is into Spongebob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron. The one that they both agree on is Wow Wow Wubbzy. Wubbzy is a cute little character from the Emmy Award winning Nick Jr. show and my girls are always watching it, especially on Nick Jr On Demand. They can never seem to get enough. I sat down and watched an episode with them and it is a very neat little show. Of course, for me, there really aren't any bad shows on Nick Jr. and I can feel really confident as a parent letting them watch that channel. Just in time for the Olympics, our little friend Wubbzy has come out with a great new DVD called "Go For the Gold". It features Michelle Kwan and if you know anything about figure skating than you have definitely heard that name a time or two. I loved watching her skate especially in the Olympics, she was and still is a very talented figure skater. I love that the character that she plays in the Wow Wow Wubbzy DVD is Michelle Kwanzleberry. This DVD also features great football player and three time Pro Bowl NFL star Tiki Barber as Touchdown Tiki. This 82 minute DVD will have your kids laughing and keep them entertained. This DVD features some great sports themed episodes to get your kids moving and grooving as well with great songs. I received a great preview copy of this DVD and my girls absolutely loved it. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it as well because I love anything that has to do with sports, call me a "sports nut". This was really a fun DVD and the girls have watched it at least 3 times since I received it last week. Loads of fun!
Wubbzy and his pals start getting geared up to compete in the big event, the Wuzzleburg Wacky Dash and Michelle advises them to prepare, practice and have fun. While Wubbzy, Widget, and Walden all devise shortcuts they hope will help them reach the finish line the fastest, Daizy helps her friends-and young viewers-learn that slow and steady wins the race.
"Go For the Gold" (suggested retail price $16.98) gives young Wubbzy fans a front row seat as Wubbzy joins a hoopty hoops team, learns that being small need not get in the way of being a champion, and that playing fair is the only way to truly win. This taught my oldest a very important lesson because every time we play video games, a card game, or any other game, she always feels like she has to win and when she doesn't, she gets mad. Once she watched this particular episode on the DVD, she realized that this wasn't the case.
In "Run For Fun", the episode featuring Michelle Kwan, and one of the seven episodes featured on the DVD, everyone in Wuzzleburg is excited that the Wuzzolympics Games are coming to town-especially when the coach is none other than Michelle Kwanzleberry
The DVD also features an episode called "What a Card" featuring Tiki Barber as the best footy-football player ever! In this episode, Wubbzy and Daizy both want to round out their footy-football collections with the very rare Touchdown Tiki card. When their buddy Earl unwittingly gets it, they both try to become his best friend in hopes that he will offer them the coveted card.
Wow Wow Wubbzy has been a hit with young viewers and their families since its premiere episode in 2006 on Nickelodeon and now airs daily on Nick Jr. Wubbzy is a fun, lovable, curious little guy who loves to play, play and play with his friends in Wuzzleburg. The show keeps kids laughing while providing essential wholesome life lessons about cooperation and teamwork. The show also supports preschool skills such as sharing, listening, compromising, helping and appreciating others, self awareness and the use of humor as a coping skill. Although their world is more fanciful and imaginative than our own, Wubbzy and his pals deal with the same social and developmental issues faced by preschoolers. They learn how to fit into the group, how to understand their own feelings and those of others, and how to get along with one another.
You can purchase this DVD through Amazon.com, other online retailers and retail stores.

Garden of Holly Review and Giveaway

You all know my love of handmade soaps, body washes, lotions, etc as well as my love for a great Etsy shop. I have been really fortunate to do a lot of great reviews for new companies out there and a lot of great companies that have been around that carry some great beauty products. The newest comes to you from a truly wonderful little Etsy shop named Garden of Holly. Garden of Holly specializes in some great beauty products and excellent smelling handmade soaps. They also have some great gifts, products for mommy and baby, a variety of skin care and even cleaning products to suit all of your particular needs. The best things about all of these products is that they are all organic, which lately I am all about. Holly has been a pleasure to work with and sent me the most delicious bar of Root Beer Handmade Soap to review. I just used this soap in the shower this morning and it is truly amazing. I love root beer and the scent going throughout this soap is delicious enough to eat. I love how Garden of Holly makes this soap, you can see all the herbs and spices that she uses all throughout and you can feel them when you use this soap as well. Holly infuses her usual blend of organic oils and butters with organic dried anise, vanilla and sassafras and topped it off with wintergreen essential oil to make this intoxicating Root Beer Handcrafted Soap. If you love Root Beer like I do, you will absolutely fall in love with this soap. My oldest daughter, who loves to have a Root Beer soda once in a while, threatened to steal this soap from me, I told her absolutely not. I usually share with her, but not this time, this one is all mine! Garden of Holly hand cuts all of their soaps and they vary in size, and all are handmade using the cold processing method. They allow their soap to cure for two weeks prior to a sale to ensure a gentler product. This soap is very gentle and great for your skin, I absolutely love my Root Beer soap!

Hand made soap is the obvious choice: it is far more gentler than store bought soap. Commercial soap makers remove the glycerin that is left in the homemade variety, this gives store bought soap a longer shelf life but detracts from its natural emollient qualities. Homemade soap has been found to have a beneficial effect on skin conditions such as psoriasis.

Garden of Holly sells a variety of not only handmade soaps, but organic natural skin care, baby products, candles, perfumes and cleaning solutions. All of their products are:
*Non Toxic
*Synthetic Free
*Paraben-Free
*Phthalate-Free
*Artificial Fragrance Free
*Artificial Color Free
*Synthetic Preservative Free
*Sulfate Free
*Propylene Free
*Petrochemical Free
All of their products are made in small batches and made to order. Garden of Holly only uses fresh, certified organic and wild crafted ingredients as well as therapeutic grade essential oils. They also obtain almost 100% of their supplies from local suppliers. Their products are also rich in minerals and vitamins readily absorbed in the skin.

You just have to check out the great gift sets and natural remedies as well as the other wonderful products. Check them all out HERE.

McNeill Designs For Brighter Minds Games Review and Giveaway

My family and I love to play board games, card games, dice games and especially video games lately together. With us, it's all about family time and having fun. Some of our favorite games include UNO, Yahtzee, Candy Land and Monopoly. Recently we were sent a couple of new games to try out and let me tell you we have had an absolute blast with them. The company is called McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds and they specialize in fun, innovative games that get your brain thinking while enjoying yourself at the same time. I was sent two of their most popular games that they carry-You've Been Sentenced and Twisted Fish. Growing up, I played Go Fish all of the time and even now especially as a mom, I play it with the oldest daughter every once on a while. Yes, I always get beat, but it's the time we spend together that matters, sometimes we just don't seem to get enough of that.

Twisted Fish- The name of the game says it all-this is a twisted version of the classic Go Fish, complete with a colorful and at some points comical deck of cards. My oldest was really excited to give this game a try, so we waited until the weekend and had a family game night to test this out. Here is the description of the game according to the site:
The old game of Go Fish just got a very challenging twist. It isn't child's play anymore! Twisted Fish takes a traditional standby and casts it into the 21st century.
13 unique fish characters in five different colors, plus 8 unique "Zingers" that allow you to break the rules, make Twisted Fish a unique game experience. The real challenge takes place when asking for the fish cards you are collecting-now you have to be specific about the type of fish and color that you are seeking. Twisted Fish challenges you to remember every question asked at the table. It is challenging and fun right down to the very last card.
For ages 8 and up, 30-40 minutes, 3-6 players

This was definitely a fun and exciting game to play. The oldest who is 7 years old got the hang of it right away and of course ended up beating her dad and I easily. It is a challenging game indeed and you have to have a good memory, but even if you don't, it's a great game to play. The illustrations on the cards are enough to keep you laughing, but of course we laughed throughout the whole game. I also love that you can go to the site and Meet the Fish, learn the rules and even check out a video. I can't wait to get my extended family over to play this game with us.

The other game that we received is a very popular one for McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds-You've Been Sentenced. This one was a little harder for the oldest to play, but as smart as she is, it didn't take her long to pick up on it after we explained it to her a few times. Here is the description according to the site:
The latest in the evolution of game, You've Been Sentenced is the first game in history to really turn making sentences into a funny, playable and challenging game. Using a unique word deck of pentagon shaped cards containing conjunctions of funny words, famous names, throughout history, familiar places and wild cards, players have to make grammatically correct and justifiable sentences. The real fun begins when the players have to read their sentences out loud and explain what they mean to the rest of the players. They form the jury and vote thumbs up or down on whether the sentence and justification stand and the points are scored. 540 cards with over 2,500 words insure billions of possible sentences so the game is never repetitive and has unlimited replay value.
Multiple other methods of play are available on the McNeill Designs For Brighter Minds website that turn You've Been Sentenced into not just a game but a full game system. They even have a lesson plan to turn the game into a classroom teaching tool. This game makes learning grammar and sentence construction fun and easy.
For ages 8 and up, 30-40 minutes to play, 3-10 players with extensive rule variations

This game truly is a wonderful teaching tool for my oldest. Yes we did actually play the game, but she has been learning to do sentences in school and this IS definitely the perfect teaching tool to do just that. The generous folks at McNeill also sent each one of their add on decks for You've Been Sentenced including: Gourmet Cuisine, Pop Culture, Sci-Fi and Fantasy, Sports Highlights, and the Reader's Digest National Word Power Challenge Decks. This makes the possibilities endless, the fun continuing and the learning continuous. I am not only impressed by the fun that we have playing this game, but at how my oldest is learning new words, sentences and sentence construction. Great props to McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds on this game, they really have a great thing going.

McNeill Designs For Brighter Minds was founded in 2004, and they have never considered themselves an ordinary game development company. The You've Been Sentenced games sets the tone for all future endeavors and ideas. This game succeeds where others have failed. McNeill uses it's success to support charitable causes such as Success Won't Wait, a non-profit organization that helps fight illiteracy through the distribution of books.

Innofresh Products Review and Giveaway

For years, I have used boxes of baking soda in my refrigerator to keep it smelling fresh and to take out any odors that might be lurking around. As we all know, baking soda has always been a tried and trusted part of our families, my grandmother swore by it. Baking soda has so many uses other than freshening fridges. Obviously baking, but you I found another great use is putting your used boxes from your refrigerator down your sink drains and it makes them smell better too. I was fortunate enough to be contacted a little while back from a company called Innofresh Products Inc. that takes freshening to the next level. They offer some great products and in particular the FRIDGE IT cubes and wafers that are fragrance free and eliminates tough odors with naturally active charcoal. I know charcoal is great at doing this as I bought a garbage can a while back and at the top there is almost like a little trap door that holds a charcoal pad that helps eliminate those awful odors from your garbage. I was really excited to try these FRIDGE IT cubes and wafers in my refrigerator and freezer to see if they really did work. I have had the pleasure of working with Bruce from Innofresh Products Inc. on this review and he very generously sent me a box full of the FRIDGE IT cubes and wafers to check out for myself. I stuck a cube in the fridge and a wafer in the freezer and have had it in there for a couple weeks. The good things about these FRIDGE IT products is that they are small and not bulky like a box of the baking soda and the cubes come with a little hook so you can hook them to the top, back or wherever you would like and just forget about them. The wafers feature a clip so you can hang them on the bars of your fridge door or even the sides of your trash cans to eliminate stinky odors. I definitely put one on my little ones diaper can and was amazed at how well it worked. There's nothing worse than that smell and it can be really embarrassing at times. I really love the pretty purple color too, yes I am one to notice color first. Like I said, I have had these in my fridge and freezer for about two weeks and I notice how fresh my fridge really does smell. We always have a lot of produce, cheese and milk in the fridge, so I really like to make sure that these foods in particular stay as fresh as possible. With the FRIDGE IT products, I can feel confident that this is going to happen. I absolutely love these products and the simplicity of the use. When I open up my refrigerator, I can feel confident that the odors are gone and absorbed through the natural charcoal. At $19.49 for a 6 pack of the FRIDGE IT Odor Absorbers, you are getting a deal. I highly recommend these to anyone who has odors around their homes, cars, offices and more, these truly are great products.

FRIDGE IT Cubes and FRIDGE IT Wafers are ideal for even the worst odors in refrigerators and for providing fresher tasting and smelling ice in the freezer. Their activated charcoal works on all odors, not just the easy ones. Advanced air flow design and an activated charcoal filter literally pulls odors in the filter and traps them. Fragrance free so odors aren't covered up by irritating fragrances but instead eliminated by the advanced activated charcoal filter.

Since 1992, Innofresh Products Inc. activated charcoal carbon air freshener products have been on the leading edge of odor elimination science utilizing activated carbon technology also found in advanced medical and water treatment applications. While other companies offer scented products that just cover up odors, Innofresh approaches the problem of odors differently by developing odor absorbers that eliminate the odors permanently rather than masking them with fragrance. Their FRIDGE IT products have received national news coverage for its abilty to absorb even the toughest odors. FRIDGE IT has also been featured on the Food Network show Food Detectives.
Since then under the Innofresh brand, they have continued their mission of exploring safe and effective activated charcoal alternatives to other fragranced spray powders, gels, and oil products with their extended line of consumer air freshener solutions for a variety of other specialized areas such as cat litter boxes and small animal cages with their Innofresh Pet Odor absorber. They also offer the Innofresh Auto Odor Eliminator as well as an extended line of household, footwear, and sport odor absorbers for retail, commercial and industrial markets. All Innofresh products are manufactured in the US in a state of the art production facility.
