Ernie's Epic Foods Review and Giveaway

I am a lover of Mexican foods, from tacos to nachos, burritos, enchiladas and everything in between.  I am more towards the mild side when it comes to taco meat, sauces and salsas. really don't like my foods too spicy.  My absolute favorite is to snack on tortilla chips with some fresh salsa.  Hard to believe that there are so many choices of salsa on the market nowadays, from mild to medium, from hot to super hot, whatever your specifics tastes are, there is a salsa just for you.  Whenever we go to my sister in law's house or maybe a friends cookout, I always ask what can we bring.  The answer a lot of the times is tortilla chips and salsa, people just can't seem to get enough of it.  It is definitely a party pleaser.  I also love to snack on tortilla chips and salsa when I am hanging out at the computer writing reviews or watching my favorite shows on TV, before I know it half the time the jar is half gone!  A lot of companies nowadays are also making healthier and organic salsas, which are very fresh and delicious as well.  I tend to gravitate towards some of the newer companies that I have run across online versus some of the salsas that I have run across in the stores, it's the smaller companies that you know give you the best product and the freshest ingredients possible.

I had the pleasure recently to contact a wonderful gentleman by the name of Ernie.  Ernie is behind Ernie's Epic Foods, which brings two absolutely divine salsas to the table: Gourmet Red and Perfect Peach.  I had the opportunity to try both of these salsas and couldn't wait to open them up to get a taste of each one.  I have heard of peach salsa before and have tried it once, but that one was totally different than this Peach Salsa from Ernie's.  What a remarkable flavor explosion!  Right on the label of each salsa it says "The Perfect Blend of Sweet and Heat" and that is a very accurate statement.  You would automatically think that with a fruit salsa such as the Peach Salsa would be overly sweet, not so with Ernie's Salsa.  I love the combination of the fresh peaches combined with the spiciness of the jalapeno peppers, it just creates a really satisfying product and one that I really enjoyed eating.  My oldest doesn't like salsa, she is not a fan of peppers, onions or tomatoes, but I made her try this salsa because she does loves peaches and she was quite impressed.  Usually she makes a face when a tomato touches her lips, this she had several chips and was raving about it.  Hubby also enjoyed it, which is something for him because he is more of a lover of spice than sweet.  He said this was just the right combination of flavors.  The Gourmet Red Salsa is absolutely delicious!  I ended up opening up the jar one afternoon saying to myself I only wanted a couple of chips to try it out and ended up eating about 1/4 of the jar by myself.  I kept saying, I better save some for the hubby or he will be extremely mad at me!  I was right and unfortunately, he loved it so much that he finished the jar himself.  He is a big tortilla chip and salsa lover as well, but he really loved the flavor of this Gourmet Red salsa from Ernie's, you can just taste the spice but there is a smoky flavor to it to that I haven't ever found in any other salsa that I have eaten.  I can't wait to buy more of this salsa in the future to share with my friends and family.  These are definitely salsas that everyone will enjoy!

Ernie has long believed his fellow Salsa Fanatics deserved better than the ketchupy, salty or just plain bland products crowding all of our store shelves.  It took him 25 years of tweaking and testing recipes on his friends and family, but he finally perfected his Gourmet Red salsa.  Perfect Peach soon followed and people just couldn't get enough.  Ernie began taking his samples to specialty grocery stores in Richmond, Virginia.  Time and Time again, it only took one taste to get Ernie's salsas on the shelves.  Within a year, his salsas were in 28 Ukrop's stores in Central Virginia and all 47 Bloom grocery stores in Virginia and Maryland.  Soon after that, Harris Teeterand Whole Foods began selling Ernie's yummy salsas.  They are also sold in numerous independent stores in Virginia.  Emails are alsways coming in every day from people wanting to know where they can buy more of Ernie's salsas.  Ernie is now developing new recipes and his product line is ready to expand, so you can expect more delicious things from Ernie's Epic Foods soon!

There is a promise on every jar of Ernie's salsa "Best You've Ever Tasted or I'll Buy It Back."  One thing is for sure, he doesn't have to buy mine back because it's all gone!  Ernie's Salsas are also low sodium and fat free, so it's good for you!  To learn more about Ernie and his delicious salsas, head on over HERE.
