My little one loves to sit in the morning and watch PBS Sprout on TV. This is a really great channel because it allows her to enjoy some of her favorite programs and character such as Elmo, The Wiggles, the whole Sesame Street gang, and of course that lovable purple dinosaur that we all know and love in Barney. I know that when my oldest was little I quite honestly didn't want her to watch Barney. At that time, Barney was the biggest character and show on TV for kids and I watched it once and didn't know what to think about him. Then when I had little one and seen just how much she really enjoyed the show and Barney in general, well then I guess that cute purple dinosaur grew on me a little. When I see little one up dancing and twirling around while watching her new little friend, I can't help but smile. Really, what's not to love? Barney is a great teaching show, teaching our kids everything from manners to new songs and the alphabet, it's always good to have an educational as well as cute character for our kids to relate to.
I recently had the opportunity to review a new DVD from Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment entitled Barney:Furry Friends. The one thing that my little one loves besides Barney of course is puppies and this DVD has plenty of those too. Upon showing her the cover of the DVD, she was already excited because she noticed Barney, but she also noticed the "buddies" as well, that's what she calls puppies and dogs because my sister in law has a dog named Buddy, so all dogs are now known as Buddy. I put this DVD in for her the day I received it and she absolutely loved it. She was dancing and she sat intently in front of the TV and watched the whole thing, especially all of the cute little puppies and kittens. This was a fun DVD and even the oldest came out to watch it with her sister. This DVD also has a lot of great songs for your kids to be-bop to and if your children love animals, this is definitely the DVD for them. If you or your kids are Barney fans and even really if you're not, this is still a wonderful addition to your DVD library. Here is an actual synopsis of the DVD to tell you more about it:
