Lately, I have been looking for some healthy and great tasting snacks. There seem to be a lot of choices out on the market recently and organic seems to really be the "In" thing. I had the opportunity to try some organic snacks from a company called LateJuly. They were very generous to send me some of their products. First, we tried the Late July Organic Mini Endangered Sandwich Cookies in both the White Chocolate and Milk Chocolate flavors. These little cookies are so cute and absolutely perfect for the kids. Hey, let's not let the kids have all of the fun, these are good for us adults too! Each little cookie is a great source of whole grain and calcium and contain REAL organic chocolate. The milk chocolate uses a blend or sustainably sourced organic cocoa and organic milk from small family owned dairy farms. The milk chocolate is sandwiched between two slightly sweet bite sized vanilla cookies packed with whole grain and extra added calcium. The white chocolate cookies are made with sustainably harvested organic Madagascar vanilla, rich organic cocoa butter and organic milk. This filling is sandwiched between two chocolate mini cookies packed with whole grain and calcium. Not only are these cookies delicious, but they raise a special awareness to the endangered animals by featuring one of 7 different endangered animals discussed in the book: Hope for Animals and Their World:How Endangered Species are Being Rescued from the Brink by Dr.Jane Goodall. Profits of these cookies support Jane Goodall's programs, which include efforts in saving wild chimpanzees and partnering with villages in Africa to promote sustainable living. My two little girls loved these cookies and my oldest really enjoyed the animals while little one just kept asking for more. I can feel good about giving my girls these cookies because they are made with all natural and organic ingredients. I am finding that I have been trying a lot of organic products lately and that organic products at times taste even better than some regular foods. There are some things I tried that if you didn't know it was organic, you wouldn't know the difference. LateJuly snacks don't taste organic, they taste yummy!
We also had the opportunity to review some of the other great products that LateJuly has to offer. The Classic Sandwich Cookies in Dark Chocolate flavor were definitely a chocolate lover's dream. We all got a chance to try one of these tasty morsels and I really enjoyed these cookies. Definitely flavorful. We also tried the Vanilla Bean with Green Tea Sandwich Cookies and I got to tell you when I seen this combination, I was definitely interested. I love anything vanilla but green tea? These were fantastic! Great vanilla flavor and these cookies are really good for you too with the green tea added. We have all heard the benefits of green tea lately and Late July really has a good thing going with these. The Bite Size Cheddar Crackers were something that my little one and I got to share. She loves crackers and half the time that is the only thing she will eat. She REALLY loved these crackers and I did too. Good cheddar flavor and really crispy and fresh. You can't go wrong with this snack. The Mini Cheese and Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich crackers were also very delicious. There wasn't any of these LateJuly products that I would go out and buy for my family and myself all of the time.
ABOUT LATE JULY
Nicole Bernard Dawes founded LateJuly in 2003 with her father, who was an entrepreneur and they worked side by side on this project until he passed away on 2009. LateJuly is independently owned and is located in Barnstable, Mass. This family also founded Cape Cod Potato Chips and Chatham Village Foods as well. Cape Cod Chips are also very delicious, I remember they used to be my late mother's favorite chips. I can't ever remember going to visit her without seeing her have one of not more bags sitting on top of her fridge. Sorry, off topic!
