The Joy of Soap Review and Giveaway

I have often said it on my blog several times before, I love things that make me smell good, body washes, a special perfume, and soap. I have been so lucky lately to try new handmade soaps, which are the absolute best because they are made with natural ingredients and oils. I got a chance to try some of the best handmade soaps from The Joy of Soap and by the name you can tell they really enjoy an take special care in making each bar of their soaps. They sell fresh handmade soaps, and in Spring of 2010 they will have scrubs, cleansers and creams as well in a variety of delicious scents. I was generously sent a wonderful box filled with several bars of The Joy of Soap's handmade soaps and I was thrilled to try out a couple. These soaps last quite a while so I wasn't able to try them all out yet, but here's what I got:

*Feeling Frisky: I tried this soap and the scent was amazing! It's scent of tangerine, grapefruit and lime with calendula flower petals really awakens the senses while the grapefruit oil that is added into the soap has a wonderful cleansing and toning effect making you skin feel soft, smooth and younger feeling. Tangerine oil is also added to increase circulation, which at times for me is definitely something that I need. I am only 36 years old but I times, especially with the stresses of life, I feel a long older. This soap has great effects for your skin, which is what the calendula flower petals do: it is LONG known to promote healthy, younger looking skin. This is my favorite soap!

*Lay Me Down Lavender-Let me say, I love anything lavender! Lavender Vanilla is my absolute favorite scent. This soap definitely does not disappoint if you are a lavender fan. My oldest daughter also used this soap and really loved it. Of course, lavender is a relaxing scent, lavender flowers are used in this soap and delivers a full, rich and intoxicating scent that is a real pleasure to your senses. Lavender flowers are also a wonderful exfoliant and gives your skin a beautiful glow. This is a really great soap to use as well.

*All Night Almond-I haven't gotten a chance to use this soap yet and unlike the previous two, this is a bigger bar. I took one smell of this soap and it smells delicious. Almond is another of my favorite scents and I can't wait to try this. As soon as one of my other bars are gone, I can dive into this treat! This soap is Sweet Almond with a light touch of lemon and poppy seed exfoliant to add a little touch of roughness that our skin needs once in a while. I'm sure this soap is fantastic.

*Perky Peaches-My oldest daughter begged me to use this soap, so I gave in and let her have it. I can tell you it smelled nice and my daughter said it made her skin feel soft. With this soap you get the best of both worlds, a delicious peach scent partnered with an oatmeal exfoliant and this soap makes your skin yummy!

*Jump Me Jasmine-Another soap that I didn't get to try yet. This one sounds really nice according to the simple description on the site: Fantasy and pure happiness. Can't wait to try this one!

The Joy of Soap was born as a result of the many years of traveling by
it's creator, Melissa. She had trouble finding soaps that were not full of the skin-drying chemicals and decided that the best way to get what she wanted in a soap was to start making it herself with all natural ingredients and craftsmanship.
All of The Joy of Soaps are hand-crafted, hand cut and hand wrapped in small batches, using certified organic oils, therapeutic grade essential oils and ingredients gentle on your skin. Their smaller size soaps are perfect for you to take with you when you are traveling, because we all know how harsh and rough the hotel soaps are on your skin. The Joy of Soap IS natural skin care made from organic, natural and sustainably grown ingredients. All of their handmade soaps start with a base of organic olive, coconut and palm oils with castor oils mixed with therapeutic grade essential oils and exfoliants.

Prices for The Joy of Soaps' luxurious hand made soaps are:
