Mrs. Renfro's Salsa Review and Giveaway #2

Back in December of last year, I was lucky enough to do a review and giveaway of Mrs.Renfro's Salsa.  To check out that review, please head over HERE.

If you have ever eaten salsa, you know all of the great flavors and ingredients go into making this creation.  Mrs.Renfro's  is one of the leaders in coming up with different and interesting combinations for their consumers to enjoy.  I LOVE salsa, I have to admit I never used to because I am not a lover of tomatoes.  It wasn't after I did my first review for Mrs.Renfro's Gourmet Salsa that I actually started taking an interest in salsa and have found myself eating a whole lot of it.  There's nothing better than a fresh jar of salsa and some tortilla chips for a light, healthy snack.  I find tomatoes are not so bad after all!  Whether you like a mild salsa, a medium salsa, or even a hot salsa, Mrs.Renfro's has you covered.  I was excited when I contacted Mrs.Renfro's and got another opportunity to review 4 more of their delicious salsas.  These salsas are definitely gourmet, gourmet with all of the flavor and not the price.  They are reasonable priced!  Here's what I received this time around:
*Black Bean Salsa- I love black beans, they are so good and so versatile in any of your Mexican recipes.  This salsa definitely did not disappoint!  This is a medium salsa and just the right temperature for me.  Hubby loved it as well, as I think he has never met a salsa that he doesn't like.  This is thick and chunky and absolutely full of flavor.  With just the right combination of peppers, onions, and black beans, this is a salsa that would be absolutely perfect right on top of a baked potato with some taco blend cheese and a dollop of sour cream on top of that for the perfect Mexican inspired creation.  It also would be perfect in any Southwestern dish.
*Chipotle Corn Salsa-YUM!  I love corn in a salsa, there's just something about it that mixes well with the spice of the peppers and the sweetness of the corn.  This salsa is an absolute perfect mix with the peppers being chipotle and ancho.  This is a medium salsa with just the right bite.  This was hubby's favorite as he likes hot and spicy foods.  We actually tried this salsa with pasta, which is something that we have never tried.  I saw this as a suggestion on the Mrs. Renfro's website and thought it sounded really good.  We had a really nice tri colored rotini and some chicken and poured the jar of salsa right over the top.  We also added some Mexican Four Cheese shredded blend and boy did it ever make a truly delicious meal.  I was surprised that the oldest ate some of it, she is not really a fan of salsa but really raved about this meal.  We all can't wait to make it again!
*Garlic Salsa- If you love garlic, you will definitely love this salsa.  My hubby is a HUGE lover of garlic and picked this salsa for the review.  Have you ever watched Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals?  If so, you know how much she loves her garlic and she would adore this salsa.  Made with fresh garlic and fire roasted garlic puree, this is a garlic lover's delight!  I really liked this salsa and I think this would make an excellent baked chicken dish.  Of course, it's good on it's own with just tortilla chips too!
*Nacho Cheese Sauce- I am a lover of cheese and so is my oldest daughter.  We have never met a cheese, cheese dip, or cheese sauce that we haven't liked.  This is a really yummy sauce that is great on it's own, warmed up a little in the microwave and poured over chips.  I KNOW this would make a great topper for those baked potatoes that my hubby loves to cook on the grill.  This sauce has a great flavor and would be good on anything!

For over 70 years, Mrs.Renfro's has been bringing you delicious and innovative products at affordable prices.  I am lucky enough to be able to find their products at my local Meijer, so I can always stock up on my favorite flavors as well as try some of the new flavors.  They are proud to offer the finest flavors and authentic tastes of the Southwest.  You can find their great line of salsas online as well. I was amazed to find that aside from carrying salsa and the Nacho Cheese Sauce, Mrs.Renfro's also carries Barbecue Sauce that has to be good.  I definitely want to try this because we do a lot of barbecuing and are always looking for something new to try.  They also carry Green Tomato Pickles, Corn Relish, Chow Chow and so much more!

Mrs.Renfro's is excited to celebrate their 70th Anniversary with a great Recipe Contest.  Your original recipe could win you a year's supply of delicious Mrs. Renfro's Salsa!  In addition to this, your name and special recipe will appear on a recipe panel of Mrs.Renfro's Salsas and will also appear on their website.  You can enter a recipe in either Appetizer, Main Dish/Entree, or Healthy categories.  48 finalists will win a limited edition Mrs.Renfro's polo shirt and a limited edition personally autographed portrait sized poster of the Renfro family while the first 140 to enter will receive a limited edition Mrs. Renfro's 70th Anniversary Recipe Contest T Shirt.  For official rules, please head over HERE.  Head HERE for the entry form.  Contest runs until July 15, 2010, so get your recipes in for your chance to win! :)
