Allen's Quality Vegetables Review and Giveaway

For quality vegetables, there's only one name to remember-Allen's. They've been producing traditional classics and southern style favorites since 1926.

I love eating vegetables. There are a few that are really my favorites like broccoli, peas, green beans and definitely corn. I look forward to fresh sweet corn on the cob every summer when we head to our local Farmer's Market. There is nothing better than a fresh variety of vegetables that you get at the market, they have such a wonderful selection and you support your local farmers as well. Veggies are always good when you are hungry and want a healthy snack rather than chips or crackers. I love a fresh, crunchy stalk of celery or a couple of sweet carrot sticks to munch on while I am watching my soap operas or writing a review in the afternoon. At night for dinner, hubby and I love to open up a can of vegetables or maybe throw a bag from the freezer into the microwave. I found some great vegetables lately that offer both: Allens Quality Vegetables. Now quite honestly, I had never heard of Allens Veggies before until I was sent five coupons for free products to try for my review. Upon looking at the coupons, I seen that Allens was part of quite an impressive veggie family with a few names that I did recognize such as Freshlike, Popeye, and Veg All and that was just to name a few. I went to my store and for the first time, I actually seen that they carried Allens Quality Vegetables. So I used my coupons to get a few different varieties such as:
*Allens Seasoned Black Beans with Vidalia Onions
*Allens Seasoned Cut Italian Green Beans-Kentucky Wonder
*Allens Seasoned Pinto Beans
*Allens Steamable Broccoli and Cheese
*Allens Steamable Cut Corn with Butter Sauce

I was excited to see that Allens Quality Vegetables come in canned and frozen varieties because we really love to switch it up sometimes at our house. Let me tell you honestly, these vegetables in both forms are perhaps the freshest and highest quality that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. I love the new Allens Seasoned Vegetables, they really have come up with some unique and interesting combination. Pinto Beans and black beans are perhaps my favorite varieties of beans, I usually love to use them in a Mexican chili. After warming up these cans of beans on two separate occasions, I realized that these beans would be terrific in a big pot of chili, the seasonings were flavorful and delicious. I loved the combination of the black beans with the sweetness of the vidalia onions and the select spices that Allens uses, really makes for a good tasting bean. The cut Italian green beans were so good, reminded me a lot of my grandmother's. She used to make homemade green beans and cook them down in fresh ham juice from a ham that she had just cooked. She added a little onion and a little bit of salt and pepper to taste and voila! That's what these green beans tasted like from Allens Quality Vegetables, you could taste the ham and onion flavor, yummy. Broccoli and cheese has always been a huge favorite of mine, but the rest of my family don't like it. I was lucky enough to be able to have the Steamable Broccoli and Cheese to myself and it was so fresh and the cheese sauce so rich and creamy, I truly enjoyed this two nights in a row. Lastly, the Steamable Corn with the butter sauce tasted like it had just been cut from a fresh ear of corn that had just been picked, it was truly delicious. You definitely have to give Allens Quality Vegetables a try and make sure to try all of the varieties from their extensive vegetable family. You will be really impressed with the flavor and fresh picked freshness.
