My family and I love to snack as I have often said before. Little one is really partial to wanting to just snack lately, it's hard to get her to actually sit down and eat anything unless it's a hot dog or chips. She really loves Cheerios and Kix though and even sometimes she loves to eat Chex Mix, but she shares in our love of cashews. The oldest loves peanuts and cashews, and has often tried a different mix of nuts such as almonds and pecans. Hubby is a HUGE lover of cashews and quite honestly, what is not to love about cashews? They are so fresh, full of flavor and soft enough for little one to eat. Nuts are always a great snack anytime of the day and are really good for you in so many ways. I have a hard time believing just how many varieties and flavors of nuts that there are nowadays. I have been very fortunate enough to review a few of the unique companies out there that specialize in nuts of all kinds and the one I am featuring today is one called YUMNUTS Naturals. They have a wide range of hard to find and one of a kind flavors of my favorite cashews. I was VERY lucky to try a variety of YUMNUTS Naturals flavors:
*Spicy Cajun- I love spicy foods, as long as they aren't TOO spicy. I was excited and reluctant at the same time to try the Cajun, because of a previous experience with Cajun foods, I have found it to be extremely spicier than I can handle. These little cashews have a mixture of paprika, garlic, onion and other select spices over a dry roasted cashew. Funny thing is is that with the spice, you also get a little kick of sweet to go with it. I know I love dry roasted peanuts, so when I found out that this is the way that YUMNUTS Naturals does their cashews, I was really excited as I can eat a canister od dry roasted peanuts by myself. Dry roasting just has a unique flavor that really makes it stand out. These Spicy Cajun cashews really do taste delicious. They are not too spicy until a little bit of an after bite. The Cajun flavor mixes extremely well with the flavor of the cashew itself and is really crunchy. This makes a perfect afternoon snack when you just want a little something but you don't want anything too heavy. These are great to snack on when you are hanging out at the computer doing a little work or playing a game. I really love these.
*Chocolate Cashews- Who doesn't love chocolate cashews? They are definitely a favorite here in my household, right up there with chocolate covered raisins and chocolate covered peanuts. These Chocolate Cashews from YUMNUTS Naturals are not covered in fatty chocolate but are dusted in cocoa powder to create a perfect and light snack. We really loved these because I am not a huge chocolate lover, I do love a little once in a while and these provided just the perfect amount of sweet mixed with the right amount of savory from the cashew itself to create the best combination. I have had chocolate covered cashews before, but this are a lot different and had just enough chocolate flavor for me. Hubby really liked him, of course it's a cashew so he will pretty much eat anything that has to do with it.
*Chile Lime- WOW, these are quite spicy! They even put the warning on the package HOT! I ate one and my tongue was burning, but if you are like my hubby and my brother-in-law, they would really enjoy these as they like foods that almost burn or do burn their stomachs. A couple of these once in a while would be OK, but I don't think I could sit down and eat a whole bunch of them. Hubby at them like it was no big deal, although there were a few beads of sweat running down his forehead, he said the flavor was really good though. I could definitely taste a hint of lime and a lot of chiles. This would make a great snack for that lover of heat in your life, who loves spicy foods no matter what the cost!
*Sea Salt-These were by far my favorite. I have really been into using sea salt in a lot of my cooking at home and for a lot of my recipes where it calls for regular salt. It may cost a little more, but the flavor it gives out is well worth it and you don't need a whole lot of it either. YUMNUTS Naturals only uses a pinch of fresh sea salt in it's special flavoring process and the result is the freshest tasting cashew that I have ever run across. These little morsels did not last long and these were ones that I didn't share, they were just too good. How can something so small have such awesome flavor? YUMNUTS Naturals definitely has the answer and what a great product. I can tell you that I will be ordering more of these in the future, maybe a couple of bags!
