We love desserts around our house and especially in the whole family. It seems whenever we get together, someone is in charge of making a different dessert. We have had several varieties, from the simple cookies to the Snickers dessert that my sister-in-law makes. We all just love our sweet treats! My favorite dessert of all time is definitely cheesecake, I really have a soft spot for any and all kinds. From the traditional cherry cheesecake, to just plain original, to the delicious Turtle cheesecake, there is not one kind that I have run across that I do not love. The other night we went down the street for dinner and on the dessert menu, they had Blackberry cheesecake, which I had never heard or seen before. I was tempted to order it, but didn't have any room after dinner, but believe me, I will try it out soon! I was recently contacted by Eli's Cheesecake to do a review of their Original Favorites Cheesecake Sampler and with my one year blog anniversary, what is better than celebrating with a cake or a cheesecake in this case? I have heard so many wonderful things about Eli's Cheesecake from other blogs and websites that I have come across, but have never had the chance to try them. So when this opportunity came up, I was more than thrilled! The Original Favorite's Cheesecake Sampler came with the following four flavors, four pieces of each flavor: Original Plain, Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, and Heath Toffee Bars. When the box came from Eli's, which was boldly printed on the box, I couldn't wait to dig in. Unfortunately, I had to wait just a little bit because it was frozen when I received it. So we had dinner and waited a little bit before digging into this delicious looking treat. The oldest of course went with Chocolate Chip. Me of course I had to go straight for the Heath Toffee Bar along with hubby. Little one just came up to all of us and took a bite of each just saying "Yum! and More!". It was still a little frozen when we ate it, which quite honestly made it taste even better because it had been such a warm day. The cheesecake has such a creamy consistency and I love a cheesecake where you can actually taste the cream cheese, that to me is THE ingredient that really makes for a great cheesecake. I love the combination of the chocolate and the Heath candy bars, which have always been one of my favorite candy bars. The toffee flavor worked well in bringing out all of the flavors and combining them into a sinfully sweet treat and the chocolate crust was even better. The Chocolate Chip cheesecake was really delicious as well as I had to sneak a bite of my oldest daughter's. There were a lot of chocolate chips in it and the oldest really enjoyed it. I had a chance over the past couple of days after that to try the other two flavors. The Strawberry cheesecake was absolutely yummy. Smooth, creamy cheesecake with a generous topping of strawberries on the top made this a very delectable dessert. I love fruit topping on my cheesecake, it just adds a very distinctive flavor combination. The Original Plain cheesecake was very good and sometimes that's all I crave, nothing fancy, just a fast little treat with no flash. All of the pieces of Eli's Cheesecake were favorites in my household, everyone got a chance to try all of the flavors and the consensus was the same: everyone LOVED it! I definitely can't wait to try more flavors and varieties of Eli's Cheesecake in the very near future.
