Wow Wow Wubbzy Go For the Gold DVD Review and Giveaway

My girls love their cartoon shows, for sure. My little one really loves Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse where as my oldest is into Spongebob Squarepants and Jimmy Neutron. The one that they both agree on is Wow Wow Wubbzy. Wubbzy is a cute little character from the Emmy Award winning Nick Jr. show and my girls are always watching it, especially on Nick Jr On Demand. They can never seem to get enough. I sat down and watched an episode with them and it is a very neat little show. Of course, for me, there really aren't any bad shows on Nick Jr. and I can feel really confident as a parent letting them watch that channel. Just in time for the Olympics, our little friend Wubbzy has come out with a great new DVD called "Go For the Gold". It features Michelle Kwan and if you know anything about figure skating than you have definitely heard that name a time or two. I loved watching her skate especially in the Olympics, she was and still is a very talented figure skater. I love that the character that she plays in the Wow Wow Wubbzy DVD is Michelle Kwanzleberry. This DVD also features great football player and three time Pro Bowl NFL star Tiki Barber as Touchdown Tiki. This 82 minute DVD will have your kids laughing and keep them entertained. This DVD features some great sports themed episodes to get your kids moving and grooving as well with great songs. I received a great preview copy of this DVD and my girls absolutely loved it. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it as well because I love anything that has to do with sports, call me a "sports nut". This was really a fun DVD and the girls have watched it at least 3 times since I received it last week. Loads of fun!
Wubbzy and his pals start getting geared up to compete in the big event, the Wuzzleburg Wacky Dash and Michelle advises them to prepare, practice and have fun. While Wubbzy, Widget, and Walden all devise shortcuts they hope will help them reach the finish line the fastest, Daizy helps her friends-and young viewers-learn that slow and steady wins the race.
"Go For the Gold" (suggested retail price $16.98) gives young Wubbzy fans a front row seat as Wubbzy joins a hoopty hoops team, learns that being small need not get in the way of being a champion, and that playing fair is the only way to truly win. This taught my oldest a very important lesson because every time we play video games, a card game, or any other game, she always feels like she has to win and when she doesn't, she gets mad. Once she watched this particular episode on the DVD, she realized that this wasn't the case.
In "Run For Fun", the episode featuring Michelle Kwan, and one of the seven episodes featured on the DVD, everyone in Wuzzleburg is excited that the Wuzzolympics Games are coming to town-especially when the coach is none other than Michelle Kwanzleberry
The DVD also features an episode called "What a Card" featuring Tiki Barber as the best footy-football player ever! In this episode, Wubbzy and Daizy both want to round out their footy-football collections with the very rare Touchdown Tiki card. When their buddy Earl unwittingly gets it, they both try to become his best friend in hopes that he will offer them the coveted card.
Wow Wow Wubbzy has been a hit with young viewers and their families since its premiere episode in 2006 on Nickelodeon and now airs daily on Nick Jr. Wubbzy is a fun, lovable, curious little guy who loves to play, play and play with his friends in Wuzzleburg. The show keeps kids laughing while providing essential wholesome life lessons about cooperation and teamwork. The show also supports preschool skills such as sharing, listening, compromising, helping and appreciating others, self awareness and the use of humor as a coping skill. Although their world is more fanciful and imaginative than our own, Wubbzy and his pals deal with the same social and developmental issues faced by preschoolers. They learn how to fit into the group, how to understand their own feelings and those of others, and how to get along with one another.
You can purchase this DVD through Amazon.com, other online retailers and retail stores.
