I love to make goodies for my family once in a while. As I have said before, I am not the most experienced baker, but it is something that I love to do once in a while. There are some days that my oldest comes home from school and tells me that she would like me to bake up some cookies or cupcakes for her class and then there are other days that the hubby comes homes and says he would like a pan of brownies. I also enjoy making cookies for our church fellowship after Sunday service. My sister and I teamed up one time to make cookies and rice crispy treats, that was fun. Well keeping in with the theme that I seems to have gotten started on yesterday, I ran across a truly great Etsy shop by the name of Lip Smackin' Creations, the name definitely says it all. Kimberly who is the owner of this Etsy shop, is the nicest gal you will ever meet. She has really been great in helping me out and sent me two of her wonderful creations for review.
Dreamy Chocolate and Cream Cookie Mix- I made this cookies up and they were absolutely to die for! They were also so easy to make. All of the dry ingredients are attractively packaged in a big mason jar, so all you add is butter, egg and vanilla, mix and bake. The chocolate in the mix is crushed Oreo cookies, which provides the crunch and the bold taste of chocolate all at once for one yummy cookie. I was absolutely impressed with the packaging of this mix, everything in neat layers so you could see every ingredient involved in making these cookies. I have seen the mason jar mixes before, but never received one, so this was a pure treat and a great delight!
Cotton's Apple Crisp- I love anything made with apples, especially something warm right out of the oven with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. This mix was great , simple ingredients like brown sugar, oats, cinnamon, ginger and the kicker was the craisins. All you add is 4 medium tart apples and butter to make the most delicious Apple Crisp that you will ever taste. Melt in your mouth good and that vanilla ice cream on top doesn't hurt either. I even drizzled the top of the ice cream and the plate with caramel sauce. Hot Apple Crisp, ice cream and caramel, the ultimate combination!
