Scholastic Storybook Treasures Review and Giveaway

Scholastic has been a huge staple in our family for years. My oldest daughter has tons and tons of books from Scholastic and we also order them for her once in a while from school from her book orders. Scholastic has some really wonderful DVDs out now called Storybook Treasures, where they bring all your favorite Scholastic books to life. I was absolutely thrilled to be able to review TWO sets of Scholastic Storybook Treasures recently. The first set I reviewed was The Night Before Christmas and more Classic Holiday Tales. This is a 2 Disc set that also features The Twelve Days of Christmas DVD. All in all there is 12 stories on these two DVDs and they are narrated by some names you might recognize like Jane Curtin, Anthony Edwards and Christopher Lloyd. We really enjoyed watching these DVDs as a family, our favorite was Max's Christmas and I'm sure if you have little ones, you might have seen Max and Ruby before once or twice on Nickelodeon. Over two hours of great multicultural stories that you can read along with. This is definitely a must-have for your holiday season and there may even be one or two stories that you yourself are familiar with:
The Night Before Christmas
The Clown of God
Merry Christmas, Space Case
Seven Candles for Kwanzaa
Great Joy
The Twelve Days of Christmas
In the Month of Kislev
The Little Drummer Boy
Max's Christmas
Morris's Disappearing Bag
Sam and the Lucky Money
Too Many Tamales

Run time-2 hrs.4minutes
Format-DVD-2 discs
Retail-$19.95

The second DVD set from the Scholastic Storybook Collection that I got to review will be one of my favorites for many years to come and that's the Treasury of 100 Storybook Classics. There are a lot of great stories on these 16 DVD's that I was excited to recognize. My oldest daughter was definitely excited too because there was a Curious George Story on there and she loves Curious George, he is cute! This collection is also a definite must-have, the stories in this collection are timeless and your children will love watching these stories over and over again. These stories provide a much needed break from channels like Nickelodeon, Disney and Sprout (I can only take so much Wiggles and Little Einsteins!) Plus all of these DVDs are Read Along DVDs, so you can have fun watching and learning the story all together. The featured stories on these discs are:
Harold and the Purple Crayon
Curious George Rides a Bike
Where the Wild Things Are
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Chicka Chicka 123
How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?
Chrysanthemum
Harry the Dirty Dog
Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type
The Ezra Jack Keats Collection
Pete's A Pizza
Make Way For Ducklings
Diary of a Spider
Rapunzel
Strega Nona
I Stink!

Run time-19 hrs.6 minutes
Format-DVDs-16 discs
Retail-$99.95
