As a parent, I am always looking for healthier alternatives to snacks. My oldest daughter loves her sweets and I give them to her in moderation but I always like to push vegetables, pretzels and fruits for her to snack on instead. That's why I was so glad to find a great tasting snack called Funky Monkey. I absolutely love the name, but the product itself is a great alternative for snacking. Funky Monkey Snacks are 100% real fruit and no sugar added and that makes me feel really good about giving my kids something that not only tastes great but is good for them too! The folks at Funky Monkey sent me an awesome box with all seven of their flavors: Applemon, Bananamon, Carnaval Mix, JiveALime, MangOJ, Pink Pineapple and Purple Funk. My oldest daughter was so excited to see the box on the counter when she came home from school. When I told her I was going to be reviewing these snacks, she couldn't wait to try them. I put some in her lunch the next day in the Pink Pineapple flavor, which was is pineapple and guava. I waited for her to get home to tell me how she liked them, and she she told me she really loved them! The best part she said was that she liked how they were crunchy like chips. Pretty neat making fruit crunch, Funky Monkey definitely has a very innovative idea to get kids to eat their recommended daily allowance of fruit. Each ounce of Funky Monkey Snacks contains 3 servings of fruit! I really like these snacks, my favorite flavor was definitely the Bananamon, so delicious and flavorful. Definitely give these little crispy, crunchy snacks a try, I'm sure your kids will love them as much as mine did!
Funky Monkey creates their crunchy snacks by freeze drying full slices and pieces of REAL fruit using a unique process to lock in taste, smell and nutrients of freshly picked fruits while creating a fun and satisfying crunch. Their snacks are 100% natural and 100% delicious! Funky Monkey Snacks have no added colors, flavors, sugars or preservatives. They are made in Brazil using tropical fruits at the peak of freshness. They are gluten free and certified Kosher. The Purple Funk flavor includes acai, a berry from the Amazon that is viewed as the newest superfood. Bananamon, JiveALime and Purple Funk are 100% organic, Pink Pineapple is 95% organic and Carnaval Mix is 70% organic.
