Skoy Cloths Review and Giveaway

I don't know about you, but I use A LOT of paper towels. I use them for messes, to clean counters, to clean mirrors, etc. On overage, I go through probably 4 rolls a week. I know there has to be better and cheaper alternatives out there today and when I ran across SKOY, I knew that finally my days of using so many paper towels was over. SKOY is a super absorbent, biodegradable, reusable, cloth that comes in an assortment of colors and a few different prints, they even have holiday prints now for the upcoming holidays. All are the same size (7x7), but let me tell you these little cloths make cleaning so much easier. I was sent a 4 pack of SKOY and I couldn't wait to open them up and test them out. They are absolutely perfect for cleaning the counters, and wiping up spills on the table. They are definitely absorbent! I used one for about a week to see just how long they lasted. My favorite part of the SKOY is that unlike a sponge which is the perfect breeding ground for bacteria not to mention how bad sponges can smell, the SKOY dries quickly so you don't have to worry about that. They are also reasonably priced, a four pack of SKOY sells for $5.99, which is about how much I usually pay for an 8 pack of store brand paper towels. I'm thinking of all of the money I would save if I would have found the SKOY cloths sooner. Another great thing is that the SKOY cloths are machine washable. I threw mine in the wash and it came out just as good as the day I got it. You definitely can't go wrong with the SKOY cloth!

ABOUT SKOY
SKOY cloths were developed by two SAH California moms who wanted a cloth better than any other clo
th they had ever used and was environmentally friendly. They started doing research and were surprised to see how people were actually cleaning their kitchens. What was even more shocking was how many tons of paper towels were being used annually (2.5 million tons) and filling up our landfills. The idea originated when Michelle, one of the moms, was living in Europe in the 90's. She discovered a product that was similar to SKOY and she found the cloth indispensible. When she got back to the US and did some research for a similar cloth but nothing compared. She then introduced the cloth to Karen who could not imagine cleaning with anything else. They put their heads together and found a way to bring this product to the US with the requirement that it meet their high standard.
Finding the name for this product became challenging. They finally found a word that is the philosophy o
f their business. Skoj (pronounced SKOY) is a Swedish word that means just for fun, which is what they wanted their business to be all about and what it continues to be today.

SKOY only uses renewable raw materials such as cellulose and cotton. Their cloths are 100% biodegradable, chlorine free using water based colors and inks. After an independent composting test, SKOY cloths broke down in about 5 weeks pf usage. Using a SKOY is equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels! It also has an absorption factor of 15x it's own weight. Microwave your SKOY cloth regularly to kill bacteria, it is also dishwasher and washing machine safe, cleaning your SKOY cloth will keep it healthy AND germ free.

I use a vinegar/ water mix to clean... 3 or 4 parts h20 to 1 part vinegar. I've learned that this works for just about everything and it isn't toxic! I've just started using an alcohol/ water mix as a glass cleaner- works great! 3 to 1 water/alcohol...

I usually use a sponge and some cut up old t-shirts that I use as rags.

I also use vinegar a lot for multi-purpose cleaning.

I make my own sweet orange clove cinnamon kitchen spray cleanser, cleans everything! I have stopped my addition to viva paper towels so the skoy cloths would be a great replacement.
