When I was a kid and lived with my grandmother, she loved to baked, can vegetables, jellies and sauces and make candy. One of her favorite things that she made was Peanut Brittle and just Brittle, because she couldn't eat the peanuts. Every Christmas she made batches and batches and would give them away as gifts. I never thought I would eat Brittle again until I ran across Dot's Brittle Kitchen. Dot's makes not only the classic Peanut Brittle and regular Brittle, but she has other specialty flavors as well. I was sent a sample box of five different brittles and was so excited to try them. Brittle is a simple recipe that has tons of great buttery and creamy flavor. I tried 5 of Dot's delicious brittles. My favorite was definitely the Cashew Brittle, full of lots of fresh cashews, which in my house cashews are by far the favorite nut. Another favorite of Dot's brittles was the Pecan Brittle, absolutely delicious. The variety that Dot's Brittle Kitchen has is amazing, she even offers to top them in coconut, extra nuts and even chocolate. I don't think I have ever had chocolate covered brittle, but I sure would love to try it! You can't go wrong with Dot's for your gift giving needs too. This would be a perfect holiday gift for that hard to buy person on your list that has everything.
Dot's Brittle Kitchen offers the following flavors:
Roasted Almond Brittle
Macadamia Nut Brittle
Don't forget you can add toppings to your brittles too for extra. Each of the brittles from Dot's Brittle Kitchen comes in Snack Bag Sizes, Half Pound and Pound Sizes. Half Pound Bags are $9.00, Pound Tins are $15.00 and you can get an 8 bag sampler pack of different flavors and all of the same kind for $19.00. Great deal for some delicious sweets treats!
All of Dot's Brittles are absolutely homemade and made fresh to order with the best ingredients. Any seasonal requests or suggestions are welcomed.
ABOUT DOT"S BRITTLE KITCHEN
Dorothy, the owner and creator, started making candies about 7 years ago. She was a stay at home mom who wanted to give gifts to family and friends since she and her family were always invited to their houses for the holidays. She would makes candies and cookies and fill tin with her creations to give to the hosts. Soon after, Dorothy began getting requests for how they wanted their brittle candy. Extra nuts, topped with coconut, cashews instead of peanuts, almonds instead of peanuts, dipped in chocolate, etc. Her husband decided they should make it into a business. So about 5 years ago, her husband bought a webpage and kick started Dorothy's business. She began with doing craft shows and home parties. Each year at least one item is added to her menu through suggestions. Dorothy's goal is to make brittle candies a year around candy instead of something you just think about during the fall and winter months. She is also able to offer competitive fundraising packages to schools and organizations as well.
