Popcorn, Indiana Review and Giveaway

One of little one's favorite snacks is popcorn, she absolutely loves it!  Her dad will stop by the gas station on his way home from work every Thursday after he fills up the car and buys both girls a bag of fresh made popcorn to share.  When little one sees what her daddy has, she grabs it from him and heads over to a chair to sit down and eat it.  When the oldest heads over to grab some for herself, little one will tell her sister "NO!" and proceed to eat most if not all of the little bag of popcorn all by herself.  She loves any kind of popcorn!  Whenever I head up to our party store just up the street to pick up a soda or something else, I always grab her one of those 99 cent bags of cheese popcorn or the popcorn mix that has the caramel, butter and cheese popcorn in it, she really likes that and might share a kernel or two with her sister, maybe.  We also love to throw a bag of popcorn into the microwave and the girls love to watch and listen to it pop.  Once in a while, hubby will pop us up some fresh popcorn on top of the stove (we don't have one of those fancy air poppers) we just love to make it the old fashioned way and add tons of butter and cheese popcorn topping.  Needless to say, we are all lovers of popcorn around my house!

I recently had the opportunity to try some delicious flavors of popcorn from Popcorn, Indiana.  Popcorn, Indiana has a great variety of kettle corn and gourmet kettle corn in a variety of flavors that will definitely satisfy my little one as well as the rest of my family and you too!  I was sent two bags of Smoked Cheddar Cheese Kettle Corn and one bag each of the Movie Theater Popcorn and Aged White Cheddar Kettle Corn.  I was really excited to try this popcorn because I had read so many other reviews on other blogs and everyone had such rave reviews.  When the box arrived, I pulled out the Smoked Cheddar flavor first and of course as soon as any box arrives via UPS, USPS or FED EX, the girls are always around because they want to see what's in it.  It was like little one could read the bag or maybe she just sensed what it was but she said "POPCORN!"  Of course, I had to give her some right away, so I opened up the bag, gave both of the girls some of the the popcorn and could tell right away that this was definitely going to be some good popcorn.  You could see the spices and all of that cheese just radiating from every kernel!  The aroma of the popcorn itself was enough to make me want to eat the whole bag but I was definitely hooked after the first taste.  I love cheddar anything but when you add a little smokiness to the cheesy flavor, that to me just makes it all the better.  This popcorn as fresh and flavorful and now one bag is completely gone thanks to the girls and myself.  Glad hubby isn't into cheddar flavored popcorn, because he isn't getting any or at least any of the first bag anyway.

Hubby grabbed the Movie Theater popcorn because he is a man that loves his butter.  If you ever watch Paual Deen, that is a woman after his own heart because she uses A LOT of butter.  This popcorn is kettle popped and has REAL butter, which if you are a lover of popcorn especially when you go to the movies, this is something that makes your popcorn experience so much better.  Hubby was nice enough to share this bag of popcorn with little one who was very insistant that she got some.  I tried a few kernels that I was allowed from the hubby and it was also very good.  Fresh is the word I would use to describe this popcorn as well as the Popcorn Indiana brand in general.  It tastes like it was just freshly popped and the flavor was very delicious.  Needless to say, hubby finished this popcorn with a little help from a little one and he was very impressed with it as well.  He asked me if there was any more, I said NO!

My absolute favorite of the three varieties was the Aged White Cheddar Popcorn.  I love sharp and aged cheeses, they are my absolute favorite.  This popcorn has that rich and creamy, tangy flavor and the popcorn itself is so light and fluffy.  Let me tell you, this makes for a great combination, a perfect marriage if you will.  It also has just the right amount of crunch.  This is a satisfying snack and I love it!  This was definitely a favorite flavor of the kids who love cheese as much as I do, they just couldn't get enough.  One thing is for sure, I will be getting more of this popcorn from Popcorn Indiana in the near future because I want all of my family and friends not only to know about these great snacks but to be able to try them for themselves as well.

Popcorn Indiana began it's story when two guys were seeking inspiration for a gourmet popcorn business that they wanted to start.  They traveled to meet Dale Humphrey in Dale's hometown of you guessed it, Popcorn, Indiana.  Dale was a fourth generation Popcorn, Indiana resident and a passionate popcorn lover who took the two guys on a tour introducing them to the lush, rolling terrain and driving down such lanes as Popcorn Road and Popcorn Church Road before returning to Mr. Humphrey's farm.  The men were invigorated by the image of a town that was so pure and simple, down to earth and so committed to corn that they returned to New York City and opened their first Popcorn, Indiana store in 2002.  Using only premium grade popcorn that was grown specifically for popping, the two men began churning out kettle corn which was a colonial recipe that combines both sugar and salt for that one of a kind sweet and salty taste.  Popcorn, Indiana's authentic kettle corn has been inspired by the kitchens of Dale and Thomas Popcorn, Dale that is Mr. Humprhey himself and Thomas for Isiah Thomas, the famous former Indiana University and NBA star.  Isiah Thomas approached the company as a self-proclaimed passionate popcorn lover and he became so enamored over this delicious popcorn that he asked to become an investor.  Every mouthful of Popcorn, Indiana popcorn is rich in the spirit of the farms and wide open spaces of this great hometown to Mr. Humprhey, with it's all natural ingredients and rich flavor of this lovingly crafted snack.
