1,000 Followers Special-Silver Dolphin Books Review and Giveaway

I know I have said it before but my oldest daughter loves to read, especially books about things that she finds interesting such as animals, lakes and oceans, and the environment.  We are a family that really loves books.  Hubby is interested in sports and Christian books, I love romance novels and suspense thrillers, and the little one well she just loves books with colorful pictures and ones that have Elmo in them.  I love looking for new books for all of us and as the oldest daughter's taste changes, so does her love of different books.  It's hard to believe that she went from loving the simplest books that had pictures and maybe one word to the short easy reader books and now she is reading full chapter books.  I love it when she picks up a book and sits down with her little sister and reads to her, granted it doesn't happen as often as I would like, but when it does it is truly special.  I have been fortunate enough to find a few online book stores through my blogging and reading other blogs and entering giveaways.  So when I saw Silver Dolphin and all of the wonderful books that they had to offer, I knew I had to contact them for a review.  I was really thrilled when they responded back with a yes and told me to choose a book for each one of my girls to review.

*Amazing Baby-Peekaboo Puppy- This book is one in the truly wonderful Amazing Baby Series of books from Silver Dolphin.  The Amazing Baby Series currently has 27 titles in it's series.  My little one loves puppies, you used to say the word puppy pr "uppy" as she once referred to every dog that she saw.  Now, since my sister got her beagle and his name is Buddy every dog that little one sees is "Buddy".  This book is so cute and contains full color illustrations.  It is also a board book, which is perfect for little one because it's sturdy and durable for her as she is a little rough on things, so this will really stand up to that.  This book also contains some great photographs, especially the one of the cute puppy as well as tuneful text that will capture your babies imaginations and develop their visual and verbal skills.  This book contains cleverly die cut windows give little ones teasing glimpses of barnyard friends, darling ducklings, a perky piglet and a lovable lamb.  My little one loved to point at the little windows and even though she doesn't quite know all of the animals yet, she loved looking at them all.  I can't wait to get little one some more of the Amazing Baby books series, these are truly great and educational books to include in your kids' libraries.

*Atlas- This book was for the oldest, who is really into learning about the world, the countries, and everything else.  I figured when I was picking out books for the girls, that this one would be perfect for the oldest because she is always asking me where a certain country is and what it is by as well as other tidbits.  This book is perfect because it also comes with two full sized posters of the world.  I put one on her bedroom wall so that the next time she has a question about where anything is, she can go into her room and look at it to find the answer.  Theses posters are really wonderful and easy to fold back up and put into the special pocket folder that is included with the book.  The illustrations are amazing and really bring our world to life.  My oldest was really excited to receive this book and had to take it next door to show it off to her little friends.  The cover of the book literally draws you in as you watch the globe "spin" when the book is moved from side to side.  This book is so easy to use because it has tabs that divide each section by continent and also has colorful, foldout pages to inspire your future world travelers to explore and learn.  I love also that this book has a lot of great facts to go along with the beautiful illustrations as well as fascinating "Did You Know?" facts.  This book is not only for the oldest, yet it is more so, but it is for me too because it has taught me a lot of things that I didn't otherwise know.  This book is fantastic and a wonderful addition to my oldest's learning. Ages 8 and up $16.95

Growing Tree Toys-Dress Up Pirate Review

My little one loves to play with her toys and you can definitely tell by the way they are always scattered throughout the house.  She has her own bedroom filled with about three toy boxes and her own TV to watch cartoons if she wants, but for some reason she always ends up out here in the living room with me and about 50 different toys, no kidding.  I always enlist my oldest daughter to help me pick up these toys at the end of the day, I mean why bother picking them up when I know she is just going to bring them back out anyway?  There are a few toys that she really loves to play with almost on a daily basis.  She received one of her absolute favorites from a great company called Growing Tree Toys, that has a wide variety of fun educational toys and learning toys for your children.  What little one received is definitely a wonderful educational toy and learning toy, the Dress Up Pirate.  This cute little guy is from another great company called Manhattan Toy and is perfect for your growing pirate mate!  Little one loved this because she loves The Wiggles and this reminded her of Captain Feathersword, which she often calls her new little friend here, except it doesn't usually come out that way for a 21 month old.  This little guy will help your growing toddler learn important skills because it features multi colored and multi textured fabrics to explore as well as buttons, snaps, ties, zippers, and hook and loop enclosures to help teach important dressing skills.  This Dress Up Pirate also comes with his own little parrot friends and complete with the eye patch as well, that little one is always trying to take off of him.  I also love that this doll is plush so little one can cuddle with him as she drifts off to sleep or like she always does, just loves to hug and cuddle everything that she can get her hands on nowadays.  This is a great toy for development as well as fun.  I know little one truly loves to play with it and we always have to take it with us wherever we go.  She loves to play with all of the little "gadgets" on her new friend especially the buttons.  This Dress Up Pirate is recommended for ages 18 months-3 years and costs $24.95.

Growing Tree Toys is definitely more than just a website full of toys, they are a family owned business in State College, PA for more than 30 years.  They have been changing the way that children play by providing them with the highest quality toys available.  After 25 years of selling toys only to their local customers, they opened GrowingTreeToys.com in 2003 aiming to provide the same excellent toys as well as excellent service that has made them successful for many years.  Growing Tree Toys.com is more than an online toy website, it is a virtual representation of their store offering the customers the amazing service, wonderful toys and robust features that they deserve from shopping online.  It features a carefully chosen, well rounded toy selection, unique product details and descriptions, great information on play, helpful suggestions for gift givers, the best gift finder available, and so much more.  GrowingTreeToys.com is truly a specialty toy store website with the health and happiness of children at heart.

Whether your looking for toys for your your infants all the way up to 11 year olds and older, you will find exactly what you are looking for over at Growing Tree Toys.  From arts and crafts to bath toys, books, construction toys, dolls and dollhouse, puzzles and so much more, your children will be entertained and learn with each toy.  Growing Tree Toys also features great brands such as Alex Toys, Calico Critters, Creativity For Kids, Melissa and Doug, and Plan Toys just to name a few.  For more information and to see all that Growing Tree Toys has to offer, please head over HERE.

Procter & Gamble Presents-Thank You Mom Reunion

My mother was a very special lady in my life when I was growing up.  She was always there for me and helped me with any situation that was both too hard and even the greater times in my life.  She was there when I got married, she was there when I had my first daughter.  There were times in my life that things completely changed and for a few years we were estranged where we weren't talking or seeing each other at all.  That all seems silly now, but remembering the good times that I had with her makes the loss of her go by a little easier.  Yes, she was a tempermental lady at times and she had A LOT of health issues that made her whole life and mine change, but I was still her only child, her "sweet baby girl" as she always called me, even until the day that she passed away.  There were times that I wished I could say Thank You Mom, but never got the chance.  My mother-in-law has been a really inspirational part of my life, especially since my mother died.  She hasn't taken the place of my mom, no one could ever do that, but she is a really wonderful lady.  She helps me out with so many things, like taking care of the girls, things that pop up at church, etc.  So today to her, I say "thank you Mom".

Procter and Gamble, a really great company that has a lot of useful and innovative products, continues to celebrate moms everywhere even way after Mother's Day with a nationwide contest.  This contest will be reuniting 105 moms with their children for those milestone family moments like graduations and birthdays that they might have otherwise missed.  There will be 15 reunions a month for the next ten months and P&G will be awarding travel vouchers to help with all of the costs of traveling for those that are chosen for this special reunion.
Since Mother's Day, participants have been submitting their stories online to be considered for the reunion with their mother or mother figure for the June contest.  Thirty finalists have been selected and consumers will choose the 15 winners.  Winners will receive a $1000 travel voucher and portable digital video camera to capture their reunion and are encouraged to share the video on ThankYouMom.com

HOW TO ENTER-
Log onto ThankYouMom.com to enter by submitting a 100 word essay about why you'd like to be reunited with your mom or you can log in to vote for your favorite entry.  Fifteen entries will be chosen every month until November.  It's great to go over and read stories of those really wanting to be reconnected with their moms and voting for the story that really tugs at your heart.  Beginning at the first day of every month, you can enter your story into one of their monthly contests.  If you don't win the first time, don't worry, you can enter again.  You are allowed to vote for your favorite one time per computer per day.

So head over here and enter or vote and help send those that want to be reconnected with their moms home.

Disclosure-This is a sponsored post but the words expressed are my own and not influenced in any way.  My post is eligible for a gift card via a random drawing by One2One Network and I also received a variety of free product samples for my involvement in this special campaign.

1000 Followers Special-Silly Mama Quilts Review and Giveaway

I absolutely love to find new products that beautify and make my home more inviting as well as comfortable.  It can be the simplest things from a new candles, to a new painting, to even a tablecloth for my dining room table, I love getting new things for the house.  I have been fortunate enough to come across new little Etsy shops online and you all know my love for those.  The people that run these shops are so creative and have a lot of great things for sale from handmade hair bows, to soaps and body butters, to even cookies and baked goods.  The latest Etsy shop that I would love to feature today is called Silly Mama Quilts.  The name itself is cute and makes you wonder just what kinds of quilts that is sold.  Silly Mama Quilts does have just that a selection of baby quilts and lap quilts, which I remember my grandmother had one of those.  It was just big enough to cover her legs and that's all she needed.  Silly Mama Quilts not only has quilts, but they also have bags and purses as well as table runners for your dining room table.  I was sent a very pretty table runner for review.  It was very colorful and reversible so I could switch it up from time to time.  I first had my table runner on the dining room table and to me it looked great.  Then hubby came in from outside and before I knew it, he had it on the living room coffee table.  I asked him what the heck he was doing.  He said it didn't look right on our dining room table because the table itself was round and the table runner was more suited for a rectangular table, which the coffee table was.  After being upset with him for moving it, I could understand what he was talking about.  This table runner provide a bright, very colorful and contemporary piece in my living room where one side was this:

and the other side was this:

The pattern is called Flower Shower and I can see why.  The one side looked like a rain storm to me and the other side of course the flower pattern.  I love this table runner, even if my hubby changed where we have it.  Wherever it is it really makes the house look nice.  Plus having it here in the living room is good especially when I have two young girls that are always putting their hands on the tables and banging stuff around, this provides a little more protection so to speak.  I would love to get more table runners from Silly Mama Quilts in the future, especially for my dining room table regardless of what hubby says!

Silly Mama Quilts is always making great projects and they love to share the new creations on their blog HERE.  You will be amazed at the colors that are used.  Note that all orders that are placed between now and July 1 will be shipped on July 2 due to a great event happening for the family of the creator of Silly Mama Quilts-a wedding!  She is busy making gifts and tables runners for the wedding party and wedding itself, so be patient, she will do her very best for you!  Congrats!
Silly Mama Quilts creates quality quilts and table runners that are so special that they can be passed down from generation to generation.  I know we have a lot of quilts from our grandmothers and their grandmothers, they are so beautiful and timeless treasures.  Silly Mama Quilts has been in business since 2009 and she is offering free shipping on all orders.  For more information and to see the great products that she has to offer, please head over HERE.

Special One Year Blog Anniversary-Hapari Swimsuits Review and Giveaway

It's definitely summertime around here and where you all are.  With that comes warm temperatures, humidity, picnics at the park and days and day at the beach.  If you are one of the lucky ones, you can spend several hours out by your backyard pool or go down the hill to the lake like we used to be able to do at our house.  With all of this, you need a swimsuit that is not only fashionable, but comfortable.  I have had several swimsuits during the course of my life, yes it's true.  I have never seemed to find one that fits me just right as well as looks good.  I was fortunate enough to find a great company called Hapari that sells a wide variety of great swimsuits for ladies, plus size women and even juniors.  I love the selection of great Tankinis that Hapari has.  I myself have never had a Tankini but I did buy one for my oldest daughter when she was three years old.  They are really cute and stylish and they have so many styles and colors to choose from.  You can really look fabulous on the beach this summer with Haprai's line of modest Tankini swimwearThey give you the option of mixing and matching tops and bottoms to create your own unique look.  All of Hapari's Tankini swimsuits can be worn three different ways: halter, tank, and crisscross, to make this swimsuit your own and different than that everyone else is wearing.  Whatever you are looking for, you can find a wonderful selection of swimwear over at Hapari.  I have been looking for a new swimsuit as I cannot begin to tell you how long it has been since I last even wore a swimsuit.  The last time I went swimming was a couple of years ago believe it or not and I wore shorts and a t shirt.  I love to go swimming, just don't do it a whole lot.  I love the Red Aloha Sport Tankini see here:

The colors of this swimwear are amazing and colorful and would really look good on me if I do say so myself.  I love the color red, always have and anything to do with it.  I would love to wear this Tankini to our beach.  I have never really felt too comfortable wearing bathing suits in front of a large crowd, but this would be flattering and I wouldn't feel embarrassed at all.  It would be great to find a bathing suit that made me feel young again, because let's face it with two young girls and a hubby, I am not looking or feeling any younger.  I also love this Tankini, it has great colors and let's face it quite retro:

Hapari is definitely the answer to your swimsuit saga!  A couple of designer moms put their heads together and solved all of the problems in a swimsuit.  It seemed impossible to find hip swimwear that is flattering and stylish.  As we all know, very few of us are blessed with absolutely perfect bodies! The gals over at Hapari have created swimsuits with body shaping secrets to enhance, decrease, and even lift and separate.  The mission at Hapari is to allow every woman to feel beautiful and confidant in their swimsuits while enhancing the curves you love and hiding the ones that you don't.  Hapari's tankini line offers mainstream designs, gorgeous prints, and a suit for absolutely EVERY figure.  With trendy tankinis, a modest swimwear line, full coverage bikinis, a junior girls and junior boys swimwear lines, and a men's swimwear line, there is a Haprai swimsuit for everyone.  For more information and to see all of the great swimwear that Hapari has to offer, please head over HERE.

One Year Blog Anniversary Special-Thompson's Water Seal Review and Giveaway

One of the things that I really miss about our old house was being able to sit out on the deck overlooking the lake and watching the sailboats and fishing boats out on the water.  Granted, our deck was pretty old and needed desperately to be rebuilt, it was just the concept of being out there and chilling out on a warm summer day.  It felt great with the breeze coming off the lake and watching all of the people out on the lake enjoying their boats and jet skis, while having a couple of drinks with hubby and watching the girls play out in the yard.  That was just so much fun.  With the new house, we don't have a deck, just a big wooded backyard and a little gated in area where we can sit and just relax.  If you are fortunate enough to have a deck or are thinking about building one, then I am sure you have heard of Thompson's Water Seal products.  They have a truly wonderful line of products that make your deck looking it's absolute best and even those of you that have had your deck for several years, they have products to make it looking brand new again.  Here's a little info on Thompson's Water Seal:

The Thompson's Company was launched in 1929 in Hollister, California when the owner of the company developed a product that protected buildings from exterior water damage.  His discovery led to the formulation of the Thompson Water Seal Clear Multi-Surface Waterproofer, which was initially used by architectural and construction firms for concrete applications.  Over the next decades, the formula not only protected the commercial structures and highways, but also such projects as the Parthenon in Greece, wooden roller coasters across the United States and the Navy's canvas jackets.  After recognizing the fast growing deck building trend in the early 80's, Thompson's began selling their product to homeowners, who made it the number one choice for protection against water damage.
The Thompson's Water Seal brand remains the undisputed national leader in the exterior waterproofing category in terms of market share, brand recognition and consumer trust.  The Thompson's Company has earned a well-deserved reputation as a leader in identifying industry trends and emerging technologies.  The Thompson's product line includes specialized cleaning products, waterproofing and staining products for outdoor surfaces including wood and concrete.  Thompson's has once again set the standard for user-friendly, high performance, waterproofers that help consumers protect and enjoy their decks and other outdoor living spaces.
I have head a lot of friends that have used Thompson's Water Seal products on their decks and have been extremely pleased with the results.  I have seen the results for myself and really love hanging out with my friends on their beautiful and new looking decks.  We have been fortunate enough to have a lot of parties on those decks and they really withstand all of the walking back and forth we do and the spilling of drinks and food.  Thompson's Water Seal products really make your deck and outside look refreshing, beautiful and brand new.

Thompson's introduces a great product to their line called the Thompson's Water Seal Oxy Foaming Exterior Multi-Surface Cleaner.  This innovative cleaner safely removes dirt, mildew, algae and fungus stains on a range of outdoor surfaces including wood and composite decks, fences, concrete, masonry, brick, stucco, outdoor furniture, roofs, siding and some fabrics such as awnings and vinyl plastics.  It is an effective, oxygen powered cleaner concentrate that is biodegradable and gentler than chlorine bleach based formulas.
Another great product from Thompson's is the Thompson's Water Seal Advanced Natural Wood Protector that is specially formulated for wood and provides one coat maximum strength protection with a coating that resists mildew as well as UV damage, allowing your wood to maintain it's natural color.  With it's patented formula, this advanced waterproofer enables you to clean and treat in one day and apply immediately to new pressure treated wood.

Thompson's Water Seal products are helping raise $75,000 for protecting and preserving our National Parks.  They are partnering up with the National Parks Foundation to benefit parks from coast to coast.  NPF programs fund park conservation and restoration efforts, foster youth engagement, promote citizenship, and preserve history and with each purchase of Thompson's Water Seal products, you can help.  Also, you can win a VIP trip to the National Park of your choice anywhere in the 50 states.  The prize package is valued at $5,000 and includes round trip coach airfair for up to 4 people, a hotel stay for four evenings, rental car for five days, and $1,000 in spending money.  I entered, you can enter too HERE.
