My Mixed Nuts Review and Giveaway

I love snacking on a bowl full of peanuts, cashews, or any other kind of mixed nuts.  They make a quick, healthy and let's face it delicious snack.  They are so many varieties out there nowadays that you could try a different kind and never get bored.  I also love eating different kinds of seeds like pumpkin and sunflower.  My husband quit smoking quite a few years ago, almost four to be exact, and he still to this day has a lot of cravings for a cigarette, especially when he is stressed out from work or stressed from the girls.  He has been chewing on a lot of sunflowers seeds in the shell to try and curb those cravings.  I had the opportunity recently to review a couple of great products from My Mixed NutsMy Mixed Nuts is not only nuts but they have trail mix too, which is absolutely delicious.  They have some truly wonderful snacking options in the varieties of mixes that they offer.  Here are the two that I received:

*Nuts For Organic-This all organic mix is chock full of only the finest nuts that My Mixed Nuts can find.  There is a healthy blend of pecans, peanuts, roasted hazelnuts, cashews, almonds, pistachios, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and walnuts.  This mix was so fresh and flavorful.  I love that there was a date on the bag saying when it was packaged and made to order on the day it was shipped for absolute guaranteed freshness.  We all tried it the day it came and of course this was hubby's dream mix as he absolutely loves cashews and obviously sunflower seeds.  I had never had the opportunity to try organic nuts before, so this was a real treat.  A little different because there is not all of the salt that I am used to eating with other mixed nuts, all you get is the true flavor of each one.  I love the package that these come in, there is a clear window in front of the bag for you to see all of the great colors and combinations of nuts that you are getting.  These were definitely very delicious and would go extremely well at a party or get together.
*Sugar and Spice- We absolutely loved this mix, it had a little bit of everything in it to satisfying your sweet and salty cravings all at the same time.  This mix had Macadamia Nuts (which are my fave!), jelly beans, ginger, sunny bears, chocolate covered raisins, cashews, golden raisins and pecans.  My oldest really loved the gummi bears and the jelly beans of course but wasn't crazy about the ginger.  The ginger provides a different taste and when eaten with a couple of nuts really creates a unique taste sensation.  My hubby loved this mix, mainly because of the cashews and chocolate covered raisins which are favorites of his.  This mix was really fresh and still is, what little there is left of it.  Very delicious!

My Mixed Nuts was started by a well known poker player named Annie Duke, her boyfriend, actor Joe Reitman and producer Ryan Simpkins.  See, Annie was on the Celebrity Apprentice where Ryan was one of the producers.  They got to talking even long after the show was done taping and talked about ideas for a custom trail mix company where the customers could come and design their own mixed nuts or trail mix and have them shipped right to their door.  Annie thought this was the most brilliant idea that she's ever heard.  Before they started this company, Annie was always mixing her own trail mixes to take along with her to poker tournaments and on the poker tour.  Annie is pretty picky and there are just some things that she doesn't like in the pre packaged mixed nuts and trail mix blends so this is why she was so excited about this idea.  For those of you who don't know Annie personally, once she puts her mind to something it is quite contagious.  I watched her on the Celebrity Apprentice and I have watched her play poker.  She is not only EXTREMELY smart but very outspoken and determined, one of my favorite poker players to watch and definitely hubby's favorite.  With the three parties involved, they all wondered with their busy lifestyles who was going to take care of the business and run the day to day operations?  Enter Ryan's mom,Susan, who they say is supremely qualified to handle "nutcases" as well as handling each and every order with care and love.  Susan is the one who packaged both of my mixes for review and now knowing the story behind My Mixed Nuts, what an honor it was to do this review ad share with you this great company.

My Mixed Nuts...and Trail Mix too has several great mixes for you to choose from such as the After Dinner Mix, Annie Banana's Trail Mix and Gummy Delicious.  You can also customize your own mix and add exactly what you want and you can name your mix as well.  With a fresh selection of seeds, nuts and candies, you can customize your mix to your liking or make a special one for a gift.  My Mixed Nuts only uses the finest, freshest quality ingredients for your mixes.  You will truly be amazed at the quality of the product and the flavors.  For more information about My Mixed Nuts and to see all of the wonderful products that they have to offer, please head over HERE.  Also make sure to check out the varieties of gift baskets, gift certificates, as well as the Mix of the Month Club.

A few housekeeping issues: We are looking for hosts for later dates. We have decided that three hosts is a good number for each blog hop. Another great benefit is that each host will have the opportunity to showcase their work the week after they host on Friday-Follow.com.
We expect you to be on your honor and to have fun. These are only guidelines to make it more enjoyable for you. Here’s how YOU can join the Friday Follow celebration:

Five Question Friday

I had so much fun with this last week that I just had to do it again.  If you decide to post your answers on your blog, leave a comment and let me know, I would love to see what you have to say!

1. Is there something you've always wanted to try but just can't muster up the courage to actually do yet?
I always wanted to try waterskiing, it looks like a lot of fun, but I don't actually think I could get out there and do it.  I also have always wanted to get jet skiing, that looks like a blast!  Trust me, there's a lot of things that I want to do that I don't have the courage to do!

2. If you had $100 handed to you in cash without your significant other knowing about it, what would you spend it on?
This is a hard question!  I would have to say I would go out and buy some new clothes, it's been a while since I went out clothes shopping for myself and could really use some!

3. What was your favorite piece of playground equipment as a child?
I loved the slides, I thought it was always find climbing up and going down, especially the big slides, those were really fun.  I did like to swing a lot too and still do.

4. Do you prefer a sweet or hearty breakfast?
I am a lover of all things sweet so waffles and pancakes are always good, but there are those days when I love to have a big plate of stuffed hash browns and toast.

5. Are you a Neat Freak or a Messy Bessy?
I am definitely a Neat Freak for the most part.  It seems like I am always straightening up and cleaning something on a daily basis.  I really hate to have too many things out of place.  It really bothers me when there are toys scattered all through house or dishes in the sink.

Nurture My Body Review and Giveaway

I love finding new companies that have great new and innovative health and beauty products.  Believe me, I am a person who loves variety and using the same products of any kind over and over get really boring.  I love new lotions, new body washes, and new perfume scents.  When I find a new product that I absolutely love, I have to tell everyone about it.  This is the case with a new body wash from Nurture My BodyNurture My Body features a line of great organic beauty products for all ages.  I was sent a really wonderful body wash that is different from anything that I have used in the past and one that I would love to continue to use in the future.  The Ginger Body Wash is blended with essential oils of cinnamon leaf for it's warming and stimulating qualities, sweet orange to tone the skin and energize the mind and ginger CO2 to soothe your achy muscles and uplift your mind.  I LOVE this body wash because it has a scent that is absolutely pleasing to the senses.  You can definitely smell the orange and the mixture of that combined with the ginger and cinnamon creates a unique experience in your shower or bath.  It also leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh as well as leaving you completely relaxed.  The scent on your skin lasts throughout the day and made hubby even stand up and take notice asking me what it was that I was wearing (usually he doesn't even really notice!)  When I told him that it was a new body wash that I have received for review from Nurture My Body, he told me that he would have to order me more, what a compliment.  The body washes from Nurture My Body are definitely premium quality washes that use a rich formula of natural botanicals and vitamins to clean and condition your body in one easy step.  They respect your skin's natural balance thanks to their SLS-free cleansing base enriched with moisturizers that make your skin healthier, silier, and more beautiful.  I was so bummed when I finished using this body wash because it was BY FAR the best body wash that I have had the pleasure of using in quite a long time.  It is so hard nowadays to find a body wash that has a fresh scent of orange, which is a scent that I really love.  Ginger is a calm, relaxing scent as well.  I used to eat ginger snaps when I was pregnant with both of my girls to soothe and relax my stomach from morning, afternoon and evening sickness.  The Ginger Body Wash from Nurture My Body has the same calming effect in different terms.  I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone and everyone, I just can't say enough great things about this body wash.

After seven years of research and development, Nurture My Body was launched in June of 2006.  Their passion is to provide the safest and most natural personal care products that reflect the unique beauty in all of us while maintaining our stewardship with the Earth.  What led a mother of two teenage daughters to conceive and give birth to this dream?  She spent 26 years in the beauty industry coupled with the past experience of overexposure to chemicals.  Also with her two daughters, it became apparent that the pressure from society to look and act a certain way was affecting the way the girls felt about themselves.  That is when she became passionate to create a different ideal that would empower young women and men to learn to accept and love themselves simply by what nature gave each of us.  Every one of the products from Nurture My Body comes with an uplifting message that can inspire your mind and bless your body.

Nurture My Body's products are 100% biodegradable, cruelty-free, and do not contain harmful synthetic fragrance oils, preservatives, petroleum products, FD&C colorants and dyes, parabens, phthalates, or other toxic chemicals.  Their company has recently been featured on ABC News EcoConsumer Tom Watson and their Shampoo and Regenerating Cream have been featured in the National Geographic Green Guide.

Nurture My Body features Organic Cleansers, Toners, Facial Treatments and Moisturizers as well as Organic Hand and Body Lotions, Shaving Products, Shampoos and Conditioners.  You can also find a line of Organic Baby Care such as lotions, shampoos, and washes.  All of these products can be featured in a variety of scents and for a variety of skin types.  For more information and to see all of the great products that Nurture My Body has to offer, please head over HERE.

Mrs. Renfro's Salsa Review and Giveaway #2

Back in December of last year, I was lucky enough to do a review and giveaway of Mrs.Renfro's Salsa.  To check out that review, please head over HERE.

If you have ever eaten salsa, you know all of the great flavors and ingredients go into making this creation.  Mrs.Renfro's  is one of the leaders in coming up with different and interesting combinations for their consumers to enjoy.  I LOVE salsa, I have to admit I never used to because I am not a lover of tomatoes.  It wasn't after I did my first review for Mrs.Renfro's Gourmet Salsa that I actually started taking an interest in salsa and have found myself eating a whole lot of it.  There's nothing better than a fresh jar of salsa and some tortilla chips for a light, healthy snack.  I find tomatoes are not so bad after all!  Whether you like a mild salsa, a medium salsa, or even a hot salsa, Mrs.Renfro's has you covered.  I was excited when I contacted Mrs.Renfro's and got another opportunity to review 4 more of their delicious salsas.  These salsas are definitely gourmet, gourmet with all of the flavor and not the price.  They are reasonable priced!  Here's what I received this time around:
*Black Bean Salsa- I love black beans, they are so good and so versatile in any of your Mexican recipes.  This salsa definitely did not disappoint!  This is a medium salsa and just the right temperature for me.  Hubby loved it as well, as I think he has never met a salsa that he doesn't like.  This is thick and chunky and absolutely full of flavor.  With just the right combination of peppers, onions, and black beans, this is a salsa that would be absolutely perfect right on top of a baked potato with some taco blend cheese and a dollop of sour cream on top of that for the perfect Mexican inspired creation.  It also would be perfect in any Southwestern dish.
*Chipotle Corn Salsa-YUM!  I love corn in a salsa, there's just something about it that mixes well with the spice of the peppers and the sweetness of the corn.  This salsa is an absolute perfect mix with the peppers being chipotle and ancho.  This is a medium salsa with just the right bite.  This was hubby's favorite as he likes hot and spicy foods.  We actually tried this salsa with pasta, which is something that we have never tried.  I saw this as a suggestion on the Mrs. Renfro's website and thought it sounded really good.  We had a really nice tri colored rotini and some chicken and poured the jar of salsa right over the top.  We also added some Mexican Four Cheese shredded blend and boy did it ever make a truly delicious meal.  I was surprised that the oldest ate some of it, she is not really a fan of salsa but really raved about this meal.  We all can't wait to make it again!
*Garlic Salsa- If you love garlic, you will definitely love this salsa.  My hubby is a HUGE lover of garlic and picked this salsa for the review.  Have you ever watched Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals?  If so, you know how much she loves her garlic and she would adore this salsa.  Made with fresh garlic and fire roasted garlic puree, this is a garlic lover's delight!  I really liked this salsa and I think this would make an excellent baked chicken dish.  Of course, it's good on it's own with just tortilla chips too!
*Nacho Cheese Sauce- I am a lover of cheese and so is my oldest daughter.  We have never met a cheese, cheese dip, or cheese sauce that we haven't liked.  This is a really yummy sauce that is great on it's own, warmed up a little in the microwave and poured over chips.  I KNOW this would make a great topper for those baked potatoes that my hubby loves to cook on the grill.  This sauce has a great flavor and would be good on anything!

For over 70 years, Mrs.Renfro's has been bringing you delicious and innovative products at affordable prices.  I am lucky enough to be able to find their products at my local Meijer, so I can always stock up on my favorite flavors as well as try some of the new flavors.  They are proud to offer the finest flavors and authentic tastes of the Southwest.  You can find their great line of salsas online as well. I was amazed to find that aside from carrying salsa and the Nacho Cheese Sauce, Mrs.Renfro's also carries Barbecue Sauce that has to be good.  I definitely want to try this because we do a lot of barbecuing and are always looking for something new to try.  They also carry Green Tomato Pickles, Corn Relish, Chow Chow and so much more!

Mrs.Renfro's is excited to celebrate their 70th Anniversary with a great Recipe Contest.  Your original recipe could win you a year's supply of delicious Mrs. Renfro's Salsa!  In addition to this, your name and special recipe will appear on a recipe panel of Mrs.Renfro's Salsas and will also appear on their website.  You can enter a recipe in either Appetizer, Main Dish/Entree, or Healthy categories.  48 finalists will win a limited edition Mrs.Renfro's polo shirt and a limited edition personally autographed portrait sized poster of the Renfro family while the first 140 to enter will receive a limited edition Mrs. Renfro's 70th Anniversary Recipe Contest T Shirt.  For official rules, please head over HERE.  Head HERE for the entry form.  Contest runs until July 15, 2010, so get your recipes in for your chance to win! :)

For more information and to see all of the great products that Mrs. Renfro's has to offer, please head over HERE.  Also make sure to check out the Recipe section for some great meal ideas.  They also have a fun Kid's Corner as well.

He has a full time job, and I am a full time Mom, so cooking in the evening is a great way for us to spend time together. Some of our best moments are when we are in the kitchen cooking, joking and talking. Our recipes are simple, delicious, and just a taste of what our family is about. We hope that we can inspire other people to cook together and eat dinner as a family. Buon Appetito!

2) Julie from Live, Laugh, Love writes: I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 3 beautiful girls, ages 12 , 11 and almost 2. Live, Laugh, Love is mostly about our homeschooling adventures, we just finished up our 3rd year, with a lot of other random things thrown in ;) And, as if 3 girls, homeschooling and blogging doesn't keep me busy enough LOL, I also run a homeschooling forum. I hope you'll visit my blog and I'm looking forward to meeting some new blogging friends! :)

Delta Faucet Review and Giveaway

Anyone who owns a home or even like us and rents a home knows that there are a lot of things around that need fixing, especially when you move into a house whether it is brand new or one that has been around for years maybe even decades.  It seems like every apartment or house that we have ever moved into and lived for a certain period of time has always needed one or maybe even a dozen things that have acquired our immediate attention.  Whether it be small things like a new light bulb, to bigger things like replanting a whole new yard, we have definitely had to do our share of home improvements.  About two weeks after we moved into our recent house, out bathroom faucet broke and it was me that actually broke it.  Sometimes, OK most of the time, the oldest is the one that breaks things, honestly.  She is quite accident prone especially around the house.  So when she heard that it was me that broke the bathroom faucet, I don't know if she was happy or upset.  You could tell that out bathroom faucet was old and had been around for a while, it was an older one handle faucet.  So imagine my surprise when I was recently contacted by Delta to do a product review.  I was excited, I don't think I had ever had a chance to get a new faucet in any house that I have lived in and we all know how wonderful and dependable that products are from Delta.  We were asked to choose a faucet for review, so I actually asked hubby to help me out on this one seeing as HE was going to be the one to install it.  He definitely wanted something similar to what we had previously (obviously an updated version) so that he wouldn't have any problems putting it in or having to drill any holes.  We chose a great Innovations Single Handle Centerset faucet.  This great faucet features:
*Elegant simplicity for the entire home.
*Sleek lines offer a distinctive look.
*Sleek 5 1/4" long spout is easy to clean
*Precise handle turn allows for accurate temperature selection.
*Single lever handle for ease of control.
*Lifetime faucet and finish warranty

The Innovations Collection offers the gentle curve and slight flare of the spout characterized the clean, modern designs of this collection.  With four finishes and a complete line of accessories, Innovations is the perfect compliment to any decor.
I couldn't wait to get it because ours was completely shot and every time we went in to wash our hands, the handle kept falling off, it was actually quite funny to be honest.  Within a week, our brand new shiny bathroom faucet was here.  Hubby installed it on Sunday morning while we were at church.  He told me it was really easy, since the proper holes were already in the previous faucet, this one pretty much slipped right in with a few little minor adjustments.  Just when he thought he had it all together, he was missing a piece.  No, this wasn't the fault of the fine people at Delta, this was because of a certain 19 month old little girl that was trying to help her daddy install the faucet and stole the piece.  Once hubby finally got it put back together, it truly was wonderful.  It works really nice and feels like we have a little touch of elegance in our bathroom, so sleek and stylish.  The handle works with ease and adjusts to just the right temperature that you need.  It is nice and shiny with it's chrome finish and it feels really good to have fresher, cleaner water in the bathroom.  I am in love with my new Delta faucet!

You can always trust the products that you get from Delta.  Every faucet is high quality, guaranteed, and comes in many different finishes to compliment your bathroom decor.  Not only do they have a wonderful selection of bathroom faucets, but some really unique and one of a kind kitchen faucets as well.  The best part: Delta faucets are water efficient, have Diamond Seal technology and so much more.  They are a very innovative leader when it comes to developing faucets to satisfy everyone's needs.

At the heart of Delta is a belief that there is a better way to live with water.  It goes way beyond excellent design to incorporate smart thinking that anticipates people's needs.  From a magnetic docking spray wand that stays put, to a diamond valve that contributes to a leak free, worry free performance, Delta is always incorporating thoughtful features that delight.  When paired with beautiful, inspirational design, it's easy to understand why a Delta faucet is just more than a faucet.  Delta Faucet is committed to green manufacturing processes and to helping people use water in smarter and more environmentally responsible ways.  Delta offers a variety of Smart Solutions that improves people's lives dail.

Why should you buy Delta?  Delta faucets offer abundant replacement parts, a comprehensive warranty, and confidence earned through a punishing regimen of durability testing.  The handles are turned on and off 500,000 times to ensure leak-proof performance for years.  Before it leaves every plant, each faucet undergoes more than 100 hand inspections including air and water testing.  To the customer, it can feel like each faucet is made with them in mind.  Delta listens closely to what the consumers want and need, they invest in extensive research and design and apply smart technological solutions that makes their customers lives a lot easier.  They are the cutting edge of product innovation and have been the leader for 50 years now.
