OOBA Review and Giveaway

I had the opportunity to try a new, refreshing and deliciously different beverage by the name of OOBA. The name itself is different, but what's inside the bottle is YUMMY! OOBA is a gently carbonated, lightly sweetened beverages as exotic and beautiful as the hibiscus flower from which they're made. I tried the OOBA Hibiscus flavor and it had just enough fizz and was packed with flavor. I loved it! My husband and daughter were able to try it as well and my husband describes it as "different but in a really good way". My daughter as picky as she is sometimes also really enjoyed it. I love trying new beverages because I have a tendency to want to stick to soda all the time. For me this is a wonderful and healthy alternative if you like the carbonation of soda but without all the sugar. This is deinitely a beverage that I could find myself drinking on a regular basis and feel good about drinking.

OOBA, the first ever sparkling hibiscus beverage comes in three ultra-modern flavors, all rich in the ancient healing power of hibiscus: OOBA Hibiscus, OOBA Hibiscus & Lime(Pure Hibiscus Extract with Key Lime Essence) and OOBA Hibiscus & Orange (Pure Hibiscus Extract with Orange Essence). They also have three other flavors according to their website: Blackberry, Vanilla and Pineapple. Each 16 oz bottle retails for $2.49.
"OOBA will tickle your taste buds and delight your eyes. Plus with every refreshing sip, OOBA's pure hibiscus extract also supports cardiovascular health by providin
g antioxidants and vitamin C." says founder and CEO John-David Enright, a pharmaceutical industry veteran with a passion for health.
OOBA, which is called the "Nectar Protector" is an acronym for One of Botany's Advantages. When compared to other health-conscious beverages options on store shelves such as POM Wonderful, Izzie and SoBe, OOBA has clear advantages-a generous dose of antioxidant-rich hibiscus extract, a lean 90 calories per serving and barely a hint of sodium (just 5mg)
. Made with 100% All Natural ingredients(just 5 of them) OOBA delivers on both health AND taste!
OOBA has no artificial colors or flavors. The ruby red color comes from the hibiscus flower. The exact amount is part of OOBA's secret recipe. The sweetness comes from the perfect amount of pure cane sugar.

Hibiscus is a colorful flower commonly used to make herbal tea and drinks throughout Egypt, Asia, Af
rica, Mexico, the Caribbean and South America. Hibiscus extract contains many of same antioxidants as red wine. There are more than 200 species of hibiscus cultivated all over the world.

OOBA is available at Earth Fare,King's, Jewel, Shaw's, Central Markets, Mrs. Greens, Rosauers, and Whole Foods as well as many independent and natural grocers. More info on OOBA can be found at

Wow - I'm addicted to cherry Dr. Pepper and could use a new fix. The Hibiscus Orange sounds the best to me. For a healthy fix, when I'm really craving a coke or dr. pepper, I buy sodium free seltzer water and add a teaspoon or two of cranberry juice extract. It has the bite of coke and the cranberry adds sweetness, but it's not too much, ya know?
